One of those moments that stays with you.

This was taken just before a breeze caught the fin he’d been working on. It slipped off the bench and chipped. My heart dropped.

He glanced at it and calmly said he didn’t like that one anyway. Four hours of work, binned — no fuss. Just a quiet perfectionist with high standards.

A professional carpenter who also shapes wooden surf fins. Precise, focused, and generous with his time.
