Honey Mustard takes centre stage as the hero colour, carrying warmth and visual weight. Peach works alongside as a supporting colour, while light tan grounds the palette. Pastel green and light purple add soft contrast. Teal brightens it up making the whole palette feel more playful and Candy-Land like.

Dharma Acid Dye ‘Veruca Salt’.

This garment obviously contains a deep warm glittery brown mohair yarn that looks like a mix of To***co Leaf and Chocolate Brown. So many details went through my mind with this palette.

Do I mix them a little for that perfect but? Do I add a touch of brown to Monarch Orange to warm it up? Is Electric Violet cool enough? And what about that brown glitter. ✨ It’s time to upgrade my yarn catalog.

It was a little exhausting deciding this one but I’m happy it all came together!

A palette designed to help you turn inspiration into colour on fibre.

A palette designed to help you turn inspiration into colour on fibre.

I like to soak my yarn for a minimum of 30 minutes. Alternatively, I’ll soak it overnight to make sure it’s thoroughly wet. This is non-negotiable for semi-solid, even dyeing. With pastels, you can get away with a few white patches here and there.

For hand-painted colourways, I run my hand down the yarn over the sink to squeeze out the excess water. Damp yarn absorbs dye more evenly than dripping-wet yarn.

I work in small prototypes so I can test, refine and recreate colour with precision before turning it into a finished recipe.

The prototype is the experiment. The recipe is the result.

I spent an entire year creating a collection of recipes for a yarn shop I was planning to open.

But I couldn’t decide what kind of yarn shop it would be.

Would it be bright and playful?
Neon?
Soft and pastel?
Earthy and natural?
Something completely different?

I wanted it to be all of them.

After opening my shop, someone asked if I would sell the recipes I’d made.

And I thought, I really love creating these mini colour worlds. I love putting palettes together.

Maybe I could make it easier for others to do the same.

So you don’t have to spend hours calculating, adjusting, testing, wasting yarn and trying to get it just right.

What if you could skip that part?

What if you could just create the colour world?

So I decided to share my recipes.

Then I took it a step further.

I created every colour in every shade, so I wouldn’t have to guess again.

I organised it all into a visual PDF — my own colour library I could pull from whenever creativity struck.

And that’s really what I wanted:

A library of colour, ready to turn into little colour worlds.

Imagination meets a path — and the thing, that idea, it all starts to feel possible.
