✨ Ko te hope tenei o Tūtānekai✨

This week our tauira (students) had the privilege of putting our Ngāti Whakaue unit into action during a very special visit to Paretehoata. 🌿

Here are a few highlights from our day:

🤝 Pōhiri Welcome: Our students stepped up as outstanding school ambassadors, helping lead the pōwhiri to welcome our Adventist Principals from all across Aotearoa New Zealand.

🚶‍♂️ Ōhinemutu Hīkoi: A huge thank you to Whaea Tema and Matua Wiri for taking us on an inspiring hīkoi around Ōhinemutu, sharing local stories and teaching us about the significant sites.

🎯 Marae Learning & Tākaro: Back on the marae, our students were busy exploring the different parts of the marae, learning their traditional names, and practicing tītītōrea, rākau, and tākaro (games)!

We are so proud of the way our students represented our school with respect and pride. A massive thank you to our pae, Aunty Norma, our leaders, teachers, and whānau who made this unforgettable day possible.

Bula vinaka! 👋 Fijian Language Week might officially fall during the school holidays, but we couldn’t wait to celebrate! 🎉🙌

Our students have been diving headfirst into Fijian culture—crafting traditional masi patterns 🎨, decorating iri (fans) 🪭, and learning the art of weaving ibe (mats) 🌾.

This year’s theme is "Na noqu vosa me tekivu mai vale ka me'u na vosataka e na veisiga"—My language starts at home and I need to speak it every day. 🏡🗣️

📍 Special Invitation: Tomorrow afternoon (Friday) at 2:45 PM, we’ll be coming together for a special Fijian celebration filled with prayer, song, and dance! ⏱️🙏🎶💃 Everyone is welcome to join us! 🌺

Today for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, three of our young leaders, Stella, Christa & Daniela, challenged tauira and kaiako with some arero whīwhiwhi🏆🗣️

Lots of laughs along the way, but we are so blessed as a kura to have such awesome tamariki and kaiako who are always willing to give it a go! 🙌🏽
