Too accurate not to share—an Australian’s blunt response to Trump’s criticism of NATO:
Mate, take a look at your own house first.
You lead a country where over half a million people are homeless tonight. Where nearly half of adults can’t handle a $400 emergency without borrowing. Where insulin can cost more than a car payment, and people ration it just to stay alive.
Medical debt is the leading cause of bankruptcy, and women are dying in hospital parking lots because doctors are afraid to treat miscarriages under restrictive laws.
You imprison more of your own citizens than any nation on earth—more than China, Russia, or North Korea. Nearly two million people behind bars, and many haven’t even been convicted; they’re just too poor to afford bail.
Your life expectancy is declining—the only developed country where that’s happening. Your infant mortality rate trails behind nations you’d consider less developed. Your children practice active shooter drills between classes while fi****ms remain a booming business.
Wages have stagnated for over a decade. Teachers work multiple jobs. Veterans sleep under bridges. Yet you spent trillions fighting wars in countries that never attacked you.
And now you have a convicted felon—embroiled in scandals and chaos—leading a campaign that looks like a geopolitical disaster in motion.
And you’re calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland provides universal healthcare, free education, and maintains one of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. No one goes bankrupt over illness. No one dies waiting for insurance approval.
You say NATO wasn’t there when you needed them—when exactly was that? Because after September 11, NATO invoked Article 5 for the first time ever—for you. Countries across the world sent troops to fight, bleed, and die alongside yours in Afghanistan. Australia wasn’t even a NATO member, and we still showed up—for twenty years.
Then you left in the middle of the night without coordination, leaving your allies to deal with the fallout.
So before calling other nations poorly run, take a long look in the mirror.
Because from where we’re standing, the real mismanagement isn’t out there—it’s coming straight from your own mouth.
