Just a little update from me. ❤️

Things are a bit hectic behind the scenes as our family navigates an unexpected loss and works through funeral arrangements.

I may be a little quieter than usual for a while longer, but I appreciate everyone's patience, understanding, and support during this difficult time than words can say.

Much love,
Mel

Oh, I just realised 😶 this page is now 2YEARS OLD!!!

Today hit a little different.

It’s one thing to miss people because life gets in the way…
but it’s another when they were close enough to come see you—and didn’t.

That kind of hurt is quiet, but it runs deep.

I’m learning that not everyone will show up the way we hope they will… and that says more about them than it ever will about us.

So I’ll keep choosing the people who choose me.
I’ll keep loving the ones who show up.
And I’ll keep being the kind of person who never makes someone feel invisible.

If you’re feeling this too today—you’re not alone 💛

Life is so incredibly short… and today that truth is sitting heavy on my heart.

Sometimes the people we love most are still here, but somehow feel a million miles away. And there’s nothing harder than wanting connection, wanting to hear their voice, wanting them to know you still care… and not being able to reach them.

If you have your parents, your loved ones, your people—please don’t wait. Say the things. Make the call. Send the message. Because time doesn’t pause, and tomorrow isn’t promised.

I miss my dad terribly. Ive had 1 phone call since 2024. My messages go unanswered. He didn’t even know I had messaged happy Birthday. Those messages dont get passed on

To the ones we’re missing while they’re still here… I see you. I feel you. And I’m holding space for you today 💔

Love is still there, even in the silence.

Trying to explain what I live with every day isn’t easy.

Because if you looked at me, you might think I’m okay.
I can smile. I can laugh. I can have a conversation.

But what you don’t see… is everything happening underneath.

My body doesn’t always listen to me.
My brain and my body don’t always communicate the way they should.
And when that happens, I lose control over things most people don’t even have to think about.

Some days it’s weakness.
Some days it’s pain.
Some days it’s exhaustion that hits out of nowhere.
And some days… it’s everything all at once.

There’s no warning.
No switch to turn it off.
No way to predict what my body will do next.

And because you can’t see it… it’s often misunderstood.

But this isn’t “just in my head.”
This isn’t something I can push through or ignore.
This is real. This is daily. This is my life.

Some days I’m strong.
Some days I struggle.
And some days I just survive.

But through all of it… I’m still here.
Still fighting. Still standing.

Scars out. Strength on.

🤍

This isn’t about recognition.
It’s not about filming every plate.
It’s not about praise.
It’s not about “look at me.”
It’s about people being hungry.
I’ve been sitting with this for a while now, and I want to start going out once a week or once a fortnight to feed our homeless again.
Simple food.
Warm food.
No cameras in faces.
No conditions.
Just kindness.
I may not be able to do everything I used to physically, but I can still cook.
I can still organise.
I can still show up — even if that means doing it from my wheelchair some days.
And that’s enough.
If anyone feels led to help, even just $1 — I will match every dollar donated.
Every single one.
And if you’d rather donate practical things like:
• Containers
• Potatoes
• Veggies
• Bread
• Meat
• Ingredients
That would be such a blessing too.
This isn’t about building a name.
It’s about building community.
If you can’t give, that’s okay.
If you can pray, share, or simply encourage — that matters too.
Let’s just quietly do some good.
Scars out. Strength on.
Serving anyway. 🤍

You can’t see my illness.
But I feel it. Every single day.
Some days I’m scared of my own body.
That’s the part people don’t see.
They see me smiling.
Posting.
Encouraging others.
They don’t see the moments where my legs give way without warning.
The inner tremors that feel like electricity under my skin.
The brain fog that steals simple words mid-sentence.
The falls that leave more than bruises.
They don’t see what it does to your confidence
when you can’t trust your own nervous system.
I’ve had a stroke.
I live with FND.
I live with fibromyalgia.
I live with arthritis.
That means pain most days.
It means exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix.
It means cancelling plans.
It means grieving the version of me that could just move without thinking.
There are days I feel frustrated.
Days I feel invisible.
Days I wonder if people think I’m exaggerating because they can’t see it.
Invisible illness is a strange thing.
You look “fine” — until you’re not.
But here’s the truth I’ve had to learn the hard way:
Strength isn’t pretending it doesn’t hurt.
Strength is admitting it does… and choosing to keep going anyway.
I don’t wake up fearless.
I wake up willing.
Willing to try.
Willing to move slowly.
Willing to rest when I have to.
Willing to get back up after I fall.
Scars out. Strength on.
Not because it’s easy.
But because giving up isn’t who I am.
If you’re fighting something people can’t see — I understand.
You’re not weak.
You’re navigating something most people couldn’t imagine.
And if all you did today was survive…
that counts. 🤍
