Announcement - Caddie Magazine Print Suspension

“I know this will disappoint many people, and I have to thank everyone who has encouraged us to keep going over recent months as this decision has been weighing on my mind. My hope is that we will be back before too long - as we have all learnt with this pandemic, things can move quickly and unpredictably. And you'll still hear from us in digital form, with some exciting video projects already wrapped up and soon to be released, and more production work and future product ideas in the pipeline.

Thank you as always for your support, understanding and patience, and I hope you have a happy, safe and prosperous 2022.”

William Watt, Editor-in-chief.

Te Pohue Golf Club, shot for Caddie Volume Ten. New Zealand has one of the highest number of golf courses per capita in the world, an impressive stat which is partly due to the abundance of remote rural courses like this one at Te Pohue. Sharing the land with grazing sheep is both a throwback to the game’s origins and perhaps a glimpse at the future. In Volume Ten we discuss the increasing pressure on public/muni courses to justify their existence, and wonder if shared use could be one of the solutions. It’s a concept scoffed at by traditional golfers and the industry at large, but with some creative thinking could help save some courses from closure.
It certainly works at Te Pohue, where the shy sheep providing a quirky distraction to the golf and helping out with course maintenance while they’re at it.

Thanks to everyone who has ordered online since we dropped the cover yesterday! It’s so cool to see orders coming in from around the world - it definitely lifts the spirits when we feel so separated at the moment.

Port Fairy Golf Club was the final stop for our Victorian Coastlines feature in Volume Nine. Just 5 mins from town sits this true links course, traversing the dunes across its excellent 18 holes. This is one of those places you hole out and want to it up tee again for another 18 🕳 ⛳️

This 9-hole gem sits atop the rugged cliffs of Victoria’s Shipwreck Coast. With several elevated tee boxes that offer stunning coastal views, this community run links is country golf at its best.

Peterborough Golf Club is a brilliant little community run 9-hole links course on the Victorian shipwreck coast. The course serves as a buffer between the small town of Peterborough and the relentless surf crashing onto the rugged cliff edges. This course packs a heap of variety into it’s 9-holes, and elevated tee shots provide fantastic views of the heaving ocean and coastline beyond town.

Peterborough is featured across 8 pages of Volume Nine (as well as donning the front cover!) and looks great in print.
