Some venues just make money,
Nivara Lounge, however, fostered new beginnings. It was a place where initial performances took place, confidence was cultivated, and emerging artists found their footing. Bands were formed there, comedians discovered their voices, and numerous friendships and creative endeavors originated within its walls.
Regrettably, the venue is now slated for demolition. While we cannot preserve the physical structure, we can certainly express our profound gratitude to Ivan Muir, the individual who made it all possible. Ivan has shouldered a significant burden, incurring substantial personal debt to sustain the space for as long as possible, all for the benefit of the community it served.
This situation transcends the mere closure of a venue; it is about acknowledging the invaluable contributions it made to countless individuals. If you have ever performed there, shared laughter there, made a new discovery, or simply experienced a memorable evening, this is your opportunity to contribute.
Please donate what you can. Every contribution, regardless of size, is meaningful. If The Nivara Lounge has enriched your life, now is the time to reciprocate.

Well well well...
Britney Spears has been a naughty girl - she was arrested last night in Ventura County (California) for driving while she was pi**ed.
She was handcuffed at the scene and taken to the Sheriff's office where she was charged with a DUI.
She has since been released from custody.

UPDATE:
Approximately $6k worth of damage has been done to one of the studio computers and FM transmitter as a direct result of this mornings sudden power cut.
The main V3 FM studio feed and FM broadcast are offline until we can try and find a work around - we are trying to salvage what computer equipment we can, but we fear the SSD hard drives have been fried.

As we are a community radio station that receives no funding, this is a major hit for us.
As we don't have the finances to replace any of the equipment damaged, we're doing our best to beg or borrow what we can to carry on with normal operations.
The Studio 2 feed is back online, and is streaming now.
Head over to our website, click the 3 lines at the top, and scroll to Studio 2. This will open the Studio 2 broadcast.

We are absolutely gutted, and apologise for and inconvenience to our listeners.

Our sincere apologies for the sudden loss of broadcast.
As it turns out, an electrician is working in the main house doing some wiring, and has killed the power without telling the studio.
This is beyond control, and we're pretty hacked off about it.

Power should be restored as soon as he has finished doing whatever he's doing (installing a range hood apparently).

We apologise for any inconvenience.

UPDATE: We're back up and running.

Our deepest apologies to our loyal listeners. It appears that our streaming server has gone offline at our providers end on both stations - V3FM and Studio 2.

We are working hard to rectify the situation, and will update when the issue has been resolved.

Here at V3FM & Studio 2, we are behind our community 100%.
We want to introduce you to a very talented local musician, Mama Koru.

Mama Koru has a song on YouTube (link below) called Mother Haka. It is a beautiful original song that is powerful - Once you've heard it, you'll love it as much as we do.

Mother Haka will be played on V3FM - and if you stay tuned, you'll hear it. Words simply cannot describe the amazing talent that Mama Koru has - and I can tell you that for a fact.
I have been a music producer for over 35 years, and talent like this is getting harder to find. We are both honoured and proud to be able to support this amazing local artist and get Mother Haka where it should be - on radio NZ wide.
