Congratulations to Rob Warmington winner of the Tom Rogers shield for the heaviest boar at the Otaua Pighunting Club competition.
Rob is one of the o.gs of the hunting community in the Hokianga and we all use to hunt together in Waima along with Tom back in the days so it was awesome to see one of the boys win his memorial shield.
And a big shout out to Javier for winning the Betty Rogers trophy for the heaviest fish with a Kahawai weighing a whopping 8.1lb.
Well done to the Otaua Pighunting club for putting on another awesome event and love seeing all our rangatahi getting involved in such an outstanding kaupapa.

🌌 Matariki 2025 – He whakaaro, he whakawhetai 🌟

As Matariki rises once again, we take a moment to breathe, reflect, and acknowledge the haerenga we’ve been on this past year.

From the moana to the ngahere, the high country to the coastlines – we've carried our kaupapa with heart, hustle and heaps of laughs. Whether it was diving for kaimoana, teaching rangatahi the ways of our tūpuna, capturing the magic for the screen, or holding space for whānau to reconnect with te taiao — every moment has been a stitch in the cloak of our mahi.

We’ve run wananga, filmed legends, hīkoi’d new paths, and built platforms where our stories, skills, and mana can live and breathe. And at the centre of it all? Our people. Our whenua. Our whakapapa.

Matariki is a time to remember those we’ve lost, to give thanks for what we have, and to dream boldly for what’s to come. So to everyone who’s supported, joined the kaupapa, shared a kai, or helped us carry the load — ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa.
He tau hou Māori tēnei e whakanuia ana, not just by looking to the stars — but by keeping our eyes, our hearts, and our mahi aligned with our tikanga and our whānau.
Ngā mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Māori – let’s rise together, like the whetū we are ✨
