Sometimes all it takes is one coffee to make something great happen.

That’s how our journey with Wellington Free Ambulance started.
A single, awesome cuppa with Dominic Barrington Prowse, their Fundraising Advisor.

I have been so in awe of Dom who has been making it his mission this year to sit down with so many Wellington businesses doing incredible mahi across the region, to make connections, and see where collaboration might spark. And when we sat down together earlier this year, Dom saw the passion me & Emmet had for the mahi that we do at Riddle Media, he took that back to head office, and they took a chance on us.

Because of that one meeting, we got to be part of the creative team for the epic Onesie Appeal this year. Hands down one of the most incredible and meaningful campaigns we’ve worked on to date.

Me and Dom caught up again this morning for a cuppa, and you can tell by the looks on our faces that we were happy to see each other and had some bloody good reflective chats. It was just so cool to hear about the success and impact of Onesie Day and all the other cool mahi Wellington Free Ambulance have coming up too.

I just need to say it out loud, that people like Dom are the glue in this city. The connectors. The ones who help link us to one another, to unlock great conversations, to help ideas gain momentum and ultimately help to make magic possible.

It’s our job to help you feel confident showing up on camera.

And believe us, we take that job VERY seriously.

Because here’s the truth: Confidence is often the biggest roadblock for business owners when it comes to video. But guess what? You already have all the good stuff right inside you! Our job is simply to draw it out of you in a fun and realistic way and make sure it shines through.

Forget the AI Barbie craze… puppets are the real glow-up 😂

Hopped onto ChatGPT this week and one of the “try something new” prompts was: make a puppet. Honestly… game over. Barbies had their moment, but puppets are where it’s at!

So, bu**er Barbie ... Here’s the Riddle Media Crew: Puppet Edition!
I haven't laughed that hard at the laptop in so long! Would you feel more comfortable on camera if we rocked up like this, or just as our human selves.... be honest 🤣

Maybe all the editing is making us a little doolally, but this was some perfectly timed comic relief!

Not every day that Mum + Dad get glammed up together ✨😆

But when we do, you can bet it’s for something pretty special.

This is our second year filming highlights for the NZ Virtual Assistance Awards, and honestly – what a privilege. Being in a room full of people we respect, celebrate, and love hanging out with never gets old.

Before I (Rach) went full-time into Riddle Media, I spent years working in the virtual space as a content creator. That community shaped so much of my own entrepreneurial journey and helped us to build the family business we have today. I honestly don’t think I could have done it without them. So even though I wasn’t up there on stage as a finalist this year, it felt just as special to be behind the camera, capturing all the incredible mahi being done by VAs across the motu.

We’re grateful every day that we get to do this work together as a husband-and-wife team – telling stories, connecting with communities we care about, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.

Here’s to incredible business owners doing epic things in their own spaces – you inspire us 🖤

Our Story

Riddle Photo & Film is owned and operated by Emmet Riddle who has a passion and an eye for photo and film. Emmet moved to Wellington in 2012, where he completed a Certificate in the Introduction to Film and Television Production through Whitireia Film and Television School in 2013. This one-year course programme covers training in directing, writing, editing, camera, lighting, sound, Art Dept and production management among other specialties. Emmet completed a number of projects throughout the year, as well as writing the script for one of the two Grad Films that the crew made. Emmet was commended for his talents in several areas of the programme. In 2014 Emmet worked at WingNut Films as part of the research team dedicated to the development Sir Peter Jackson's Great War Exhibition. Emmet is now focussing his talents and passions on building his photography and videography portfolio by providing his services on a part-time basis across social, corporate and sporting events in and around the Wellington region. Emmet is a gifted and personable professional who is easy to work with and holds your event requirements in the utmost importance.
