Confidence comes AFTER you do the scary thing.
We talk a lot about how uncomfortable it can feel to show up online for your business.
Putting your face on camera. Sharing your opinions. Talking about what you're good at. Putting your work out there knowing other people are going to see it and potentially judge it.
But really, it's the same muscle we flex every time we put ourselves out there in business.
Walking into a networking event where you don't know many people. Introducing yourself to someone new. Putting your hand up for an opportunity. Standing in front of a room and sharing what you know.
And if we want any of those things to start feeling easier, we actually have to practice doing them.
Recently for Rach, that looked like saying yes to sitting on a panel at Rocketspark's Creative Freedom Brunch.
Was speaking about our business in front of a room full of people necessarily top of the comfort-zone list? Absolutely not. 😂
But the bigger why outweighed the nerves.
It was an opportunity to connect with an incredible room of creatives, share some of what we've learnt building our own business, contribute to our creative community and put ourselves out there in a different way.
And it was SO worth it.
The room was warm and supportive, the conversation flowed, and opportunities have already come from simply saying yes, including ANOTHER invitation to speak on a panel!
It's a good reminder that you don't need to wait until you feel confident enough to do something.
Sometimes you do the uncomfortable thing first.
And the confidence catches up.
Whether that's posting the Reel, going to the event, introducing yourself, sharing your expertise, speaking on the panel or simply allowing yourself to take up a little more space in your corner of the internet.
Keep flexing the muscle. That's how it gets stronger 💪
