As some of you may already know, I have been managing and mentoring the young Northland band FORK ... I'm stoked and proud they took out second place in this years Smokefreerockquest final (Northland region) and put an a rip roaring furious show for all who attended .... I'm asking you all to go like and follow them here and on Youtube (and other socials of your choice .... They are an act to keep an eye on and I believe they will rapidly become household names, not only in this region but NZ wide ... Let's help them add to their growing fan base .... Like/Follow/share

They will be playing in the Battle of the Bands this coming Saturday 19th at The Mothership in Auckland. Niel de Jong (Hammerhead) has been working in the recording industry for over 25 years. He has many years experience in music mastering and post production sound mixing for film and television. He now mixes and masters music in Presonus Studio One.

Why “Hammerhead?” It’s a nickname given when Niel started working with Alien Weaponry and touring the world’s big metal festivals. “An old metal fan from way back”, his nickname comes from mangopare, the Māori name for the hammerhead shark and is a mythical guardian of his Ngāti Pikiao family. “It just kind of stuck”

Working as a touring team with Jette

Niel and Jette de Jong also work as a duo offering FOH sound, tour managment and merch sales for touring bands. As a team they have tour managed, mixed and merched at clubs, Arenas, and main stages at some of the biggest festivals in the world including Download, Wacken, Chicago Open Air, Hellfest, Summer Breeze, Metal Days to name a few. They have toured extensivly in Europe, North America and Australasia and have picked up a wealth of knowlege in these territories.
