Amongst all the talk about structures, profits and competition, there’s something Grant and I don’t want to get lost.
The people. ❤️
Our team of 85 people who turn up every day and do their very best for Wairoa.
They’re here at ridiculous hours. Working with suppliers to get better deals. Unloading trucks. Filling shelves. Cutting meat. Making food. Picking online orders. And giving you a smile at checkout when they might have plenty going on in their own lives.
Behind all of that is something pretty simple.
Trying to give our customers great service, quality products and the best value we can.
Grant and I own this store, and with that comes accountability — to our team and to our community.
We won’t always get everything right. But that’s one of the things we genuinely love about being locally owned and operated.
You can tell us.
If we’re getting something wrong, tell us. If we could do something better, tell us. We want to know, because that’s how we get better.
And amongst everything being said about supermarkets nationally, we just wanted to remind Wairoa who is actually behind ours.
85 local people doing their very best for this town every day.
If one of them has looked after you, made you smile or gone the extra mile, feel free to give them a little love below. ❤️
This is our team. This is New World Wairoa.
P.S. This photo is one of our team member’s walls beside their desk. It’s covered in photos of our team and always makes me smile. 🥰
