Check out this special screening this Friday night of Terminal Lake in Wānaka - short film shot in St Bathans with local crew, with a special Q&A from the director Andrew Ross Blackman, followed by a screening of 1985 The Quiet Earth.

Terminal Lake (2026): A survivor (Jordan Mooney) in a ruined landscape sees Terminal Lake on the horizon. Directed by Andrew Ross Blackman.

The Quiet Earth (1985): After a global energy project malfunctions, scientist Zac Hobson (Bruno Lawrence) awakes to find himself the only living being left on Earth. Directed by Geoff Murphy.

A little viewing for you Friday afternoon!

GHERK is a micro documentary film by Joe Murdie & Bunker Street Film Co about local Wānaka artist Dante aka GHERK.

Gherk has been a traveling artist for the last 6-7 years, working across a range of mediums from painting to sculpture, sewing to cartoons and more. In June 2026 he set up a drivable street gallery on the lake shore of Wānaka to showcase some of his work.

Don’t Whistle At The Aurora is storm chaser adrenaline meets intimate art doco, with quirky characters, hints of comedy and a shared passion for finding hidden beauty in a world full of dark.

This is not a film about why the Aurora happens or how to photograph it…. it's a film about our collective search for wonder, and the remarkable community of people drawn together by the pursuit of something extraordinary.
