Popped into for a long-overdue catch-up and left with full hearts and even fuller bellies 😋🔥

Nestled in the historic Huddart Parker building, this spot has been serving up smart-casual vibes and serious flavor since 2013.

We dove into that melt-in-your-mouth twice-cooked beef cheek (hello, saffron risotto ✨) and a perfectly grilled greenstone creek scotch fillet 🥩 Shared a seasonal pear salad that was chef’s kiss (RIP persimmons, see you next season 👋)

The woodfire magic, the thoughtful service, the feel-good vibes. Charley Noble knows how to do it right 🙌

Too good not to have a separate static post 🤭

Tucked away in the heart of Petone, has just launched a brand-new menu and it’s all about fresh, seasonal ingredients and bold, comforting flavors 🙌🏼 AD • Gifted

We were lucky enough to be invited in for a tasting, and wow the team delivered. From dangerously sippable cocktails to rich mains and cozy desserts, every bite was memorable.

We kicked things off with their signature cocktails: The Jackson and the Mango Panan—both smooth, flavour-packed, and far too easy to love 🍸

Then came the feast:

✨ Vanilla buttermilk pancakes – soft, fluffy, generous, and just the right touch of sweet
🍄 Mushroom linguini – creamy, comforting, and full of depth
🥩 Braised beef cheek – rich, warming, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth
🥦 Honey-glazed cauliflower – sweet, sticky, and something I genuinely need more of in my life
🥬 Vege cauliflower steak – exactly what the name suggests, hearty and satisfying
🍖 Moroccan lamb – unbelievably tender, loaded with flavor, and truly a standout
🍮 Sticky date pudding – huge portion, not overly sweet, and packed with warm, spiced flavor
🍏 Apple crumble – rustic, homely, and the perfect nostalgic finish

Also, let’s talk about the massive outdoor area—surprisingly warm and cozy, perfect for Wellington’s winter chill ❄️🔥

Sundays = officially sorted. 🤤 I hit up for Roast Club and let me tell you — this was no ordinary roast.

Herb-crusted lamb shoulder, rosemary potatoes, cheesy cauliflower, Cajun kale, Yorkshire pud, and that rich red wine & port jus? Flavour loaded and the gravy was flowing. 😮‍💨🔥

Alright, next up on the hot choc hit list – and it’s giving pure luxury – meet the Dubai-Style Pistachio Hot Chocolate from .nz , part of the lineup 💚🍫🥜

$9.50 for a cup of thick, velvety chocolate layered with dreamy pistachio mousse, a crunchy kataifi-pistachio praline crown, and that signature Italian-style richness. Every sip is pistachio-packed, creamy, and decadent.

We made a whole brunch moment out of it too – the garlic & thyme roasted portobello mushrooms with feta whip, beetroot relish, balsamic, crispy shallots & sourdough? Absolutely divine. Plus we grabbed a brekkie burger from the cabinet and it was bang for your buck 👌

This one’s bold, boujee, and built for pistachio lovers. You can taste the quality in every mouthful.

Note: Dairy-based, and only here for the challenge – don’t sleep on it!

Okay, this one might just be my favourite yet – meet The Squirrel Swirl from , part of the lineup 🐿️🍫🥜

$9 for a large, and it’s basically a Snickers bar turned molten. Think salted caramel hot choc, smooth peanut butter, fluffy marshmallows drizzled in caramel… and yes, there’s a mini Snickers bar on the side (!!). It’s rich, it’s indulgent, and it’s absolutely nuts in the best way.

And yep, I am that girl who brings her own cup just so you can see the full drink in all its glory 😅 No regrets.

Bonus: Alt milk friendly, but only here for the challenge – so get in quick!

Now this one’s a little different – meet Champorado! from .high , part of the lineup 🇵🇭🍫🍚

$9.50 for a large – and it’s inspired by a classic Filipino comfort dish turned cozy hot choc. Dark chocolate, glutinous rice, hints of coconut… it’s rich, nostalgic and unlike anything I’ve tried before!

We accidentally mixed ours (rookie move? 😂), which mellowed the flavours more than expected — so I’d love to try it again as intended. But the concept? So cool. A warm hug in a cup, with a whole story behind it.

Bonus: Vegan and gluten-free friendly!

Next up on the hot chocolate trail is “They Call Me Mellow Yellow” from 🍍🍫

$12 – and it’s a whole experience 😍 Creamy hot chocolate topped with pineapple cream, chocolate buds, toasted marshmallow and yes – a pineapple lump! It even looks like a pineapple 🍍

The flavour combo? Think pineapple + chocolate + marshmallow fluff = tropical, cozy and unexpectedly delicious.

Buzz really nailed the theme – bold, fun and totally on-brand for the challenge. Definitely one to add to your list! 💛

First up on the hot chocolate challenge this season is the Blancho Bliss from 🍵

$10 - and it was pure bliss indeed 😍 Very much me. You get to pick your level of sweetness (25%, 50% or 75%) - we opted for 25% and it was sweet enough perfeeect.

Pistachios & Matcha, white chocolate chips, vanilla extract, special flavour whipped cream. The team even brought us out a sweet little treat which is pretty much the base for the hot chocolate and oh my oh my 😋

Definitely worth adding to your list!!

There’s just something about that hits different—especially on these chilly days 🌶️

We were lucky enough to be invited for dinner, and as always, the food was next level. The menu is packed with delicious options, and every now and then you’ll find a nostalgic gem like this incredible salmon dish — smoky, tender, and packed with flavour.

We also tucked into the tropical duck curry, pork pot stickers, and the salmon & prawn parcels… every bite was YOM YOM YOOOM 😮‍💨✨

And the cocktails? Unreal. We could’ve kept them coming all night. Dangerously good.

If you’re after a spot that delivers seriously good food without breaking the bank — this is it. Don’t sleep on it! 🙌🔥

In honour of Matariki, are serving up something truly special ✨ From June 18–25, they’re showcasing a limited-edition menu that’s packed with soulful flavour:

🍔 Boil-up burger with/without chips & pāua dip
🍟 Loaded pāua fries
🍞 Fry bread with pāua dip

We were lucky enough to grab a table tonight (which also happened to be live music night!) and the vibe couldn’t have been better — delicious kai, incredible atmosphere, and the perfect way to welcome the Matariki season 🌌
