Digging in again up the Motueka Valley. Today I was running the front loader tipper and the tip truck between Dave and Joel who were on the diggers loading me up.

A huge thank you Vicky and Randall for bringing us lunch today! Could tell the sammies were made with love ❤️

Getting it done and enjoying it! Huge thank you to the property owners who have allowed me to come into their personal space and muck in.

If you wanna come muck in with me, flick me a pm! I'm out there with Dave almost every day (rainy days like today become admin days!). We can provide all the tools you'll need, lunch will probably be provided, and you'll most likely have the opportunity to have a go on the machinery as we're all about sharing knowledge and skills if you want to learn. Would love to hear from you!

I'm also collecting koha for things like machinery fuel so we can continue offering free machinery to people on flood affected properties. All donations go to help flood affected whanau directly. Nothing gets caught up in regulations or meetings, and no one is being paid a wage.

The whole valley is littered with flood debris, its everywhere you look. Sometimes it's a real mind f**k trying to figure out where to start, but we pick a spot and just get on with it.

ALL DONE FOR THE DAY

Today has been a little lonely but still managed to accomplish this important mission - getting our free tipper/loader out to properties that need help! It's there now, all ready to use tomorrow ♥️

Huge thank you to Simon Easton for the free use of this front tipper/loader, and to George and Dee Sturgeon from Motueka Farm Machinery who gave me free use of the transporter. You guys are beyond awesome!

We are always needing extra fuel for our machinery, which we use on flood affected properties at no charge to the home owners. Every little bit counts;

TONYs PROPERTY - Day 2

Today it's just me and Sam on the diggers. The rain is getting annoying asf but we're managing to work through it :)

Sam Leith has come to join us for a couple of days with his own digger and tip truck, what an awesome guy! He runs a small tipper/digger hire business in Motueka and is a pretty top guy!

HELP!
We have been given this awesome piece of machinery to use free of charge on flooded properties but we need someone with a transporer to get it from Motueka, up to the valley (20mins from Mot). Can anyone help with this? It's approx 2.5t, 2.2m wide, 4m long.

TONYs PROPERTY

Today we have a couple of diggers down at Tony Hahns property in Davedale, which is in the upper Motueka Valley. We have spent the day removing fencelines and digging out a lost concrete well cover, which was going to cost $800 to replace. Luckily I was able to find it under a foot or so of gravel, which was washed onto the land from the river.

We desperately need help with manual labour. If you can spare a few hours, please send me a pm and come join us in the muck, you may even get some time on a digger!

A DESERVED DAY OFF

Today is our first day off since I arrived in Motueka 2.5weeks ago. My tired body aches from all the digging in, but it aches in the most positive and fulfilling of ways. A long soak in the bath is definitely on the cards today!

I'm very thankful for a day of rest, but I'm already looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow!

Pictured: Yesterday I was running the dump truck while Dave loaded piles of silt for removal at the property of an elderly couple in Ngatimoti. We managed to clear a huge amount from their back yard, and will return on Friday to finish the job 💪♥️👌

A HUNDRED PILES OF SILT
Today we have a digger and a tip truck with us as we clear piles of silt from a property here in Motueka Valley. We really need people on shovels with us. If you are keen to join us one day, pls pm me.
