Every member of the infected horde in S2 EP2 of The Last of Us began with a performance 🧟 Just under 30 stunt actors were scanned and transformed into over 1000 infected with mix-and-match cloth and hair simulations. Add Ragdoll Dynamics for movements, as well as physical capture performances, and the horde felt frighteningly real with no compromises.

Survival has never looked this real 🧟🍄 Bringing the gritty, intense world in The Last of Us Season 2 to life involved a heavy set of VFX tools spanning previs to final frame. Weather control, large-scale crowd sims, complex FX and creature work featured in our work across the season, including a thousand-strong horde of infected laying siege to the town of Jackson.
