It’s an absolute pleasure and privilege to witness and support talented young film makers like Telesia Tanoa’i II making their journey into the screen industry. Last night, to a packed crowd in the parliamentary theatre, we were treated to several fantastic shorts made by up and coming Pasifika film makers. Congratulations to Telesia and DM us for links to the films.

At Lane Street Studios we are all about working behind the scenes to help support the amazing talent that exists in our screen sector. Speaking of behind the scenes, or should we say lurking in the shadows… be sure to check out the Skullduggery Art Show, starting this Monday the 28th from 7:30pm at Thistle Hall Community Venue.

You’ll see the work of some fantastic artists bringing all of their ghoulish and beautifully terrifying creations to life. Just in time for All Hallows’ Eve… see you there!

We've had a busy day hosting tours at Lane Street Studios. We'd like to extend our thanks to all who joined us, especially to the most recent group of alumni who finished the Creative Business Programme, sponsored by the Southeast Asia Centre of Asia Pacific Excellence.

Congratulations to the cast, crew and team who worked on the recently released, "Time Bandits"- which is now available to stream on Apple TV+

Wellington, New Zealand is an inspiring place to make unique and creative content for screen. Our region has so much to offer from exceptional crew, through to beautiful locations and fantastic facilities. Stone Street Studios served as the base of operations for the show, and Lane Street Studios were proud to act as the supporting facility.

Did you know that more than 120 film sets and 100 days of production brought the series to life?!

Great to see such tremendous collaborations taking place in our city.

So many beautiful tributes to Jon Landau have been written in the last few days.
We were reluctant to post something, as we didn’t know Jon as well as some. However, he was always kind and generous to us, and so it would be remiss not to acknowledge that support. In the time we knew Jon he was a crucial advocate for the building of Lane Street, and always gave his time to discuss the screen sector skills and training programmes that we had put together. Giving other people an opportunity to be successful in the industry was one of the many ways he showed his endless support and enthusiasm.
In this photo he was saying to Kristy “can you build more offices, you’ll need more offices!” And so, of course, we did.

Rest well Jon. Thank you so much for your generosity. Our deepest condolences to Jon’s family.

We are very honoured to have received two awards at the ExportNZ ASB Wellington Export Awards last night. We not only won 'Best Emerging Business', but also took 'Supreme Exporter of the Year'!

We are so humbled to be announced as a finalist the ExportNZ ASB Wellington Export Awards! A huge congratulations to all the finalists who have also been announced.

Our CEO Kristy Grant has a background in international marketing, trade development and exports. She says, "it's exciting to see digital or “weightless exporters” be nominated, as our creative digital exports are crucial for New Zealand’s economic growth and successful international trade relations."

Aaron McLeigh from ExportNZ says, “The judges have been full of praise for the finalists they have interviewed, noting their tenacity and resilience in facing challenges head-on-supply chain disruptions, market fluctuations, and global uncertainties – yet they’ve adapted, innovated, and persevered. Each finalist represents a story of determination and success, and we can’t wait to celebrate them all and crown the Exporter of the Year at the awards dinner at Parliament in June.”
