via Hori | E kore au e ngaro, tōku reo rangatira - the reo Māori journey is different for everyone.

In this Hīkoi Reo series, Hori explores the experience of growing up in Ōtaki, which is now considered one of the most bilingual towns in Aotearoa.

He tamaiti o Raukawa Kōhanga Reo, Hori went on to a 'mainstream' college where he made a conscious decision to stop speaking Māori. It would take nearly two decades to return home to Ōtaki to relearn his language.
