Freeman has acquired the remaining 50% of Downstream and the Oceania Renewable Power Summit from events company Brightstar to now give it full ownership of the conferences.

This step concludes a 14-year successful joint venture between Freeman and Brightstar. Delegates, sponsors and speakers will be delivered the same premium experience but will now be dealing solely with Freeman. "We look forward to building on this solid foundation and creating even greater value for the energy sector in the years ahead," says Matt Freeman, managing director of Freeman. "We extend our gratitude to our former partner Brightstar who has played an instrumental role in developing and delivering both events."

We have moved!
Freeman is excited to announce that the Wellington office has moved to Level 4, 85 The Terrace. After 15 years of operating from the Morrison Kent building at 105 The Terrace, it was finally time for the business to find a larger, fit-for-purpose setup. The new space provides an open plan workspace, multiple flexible meeting rooms, and a dedicated staff area.

We look forward to many more years of delivering the information, services, and events Freeman has established for the energy, extractives, and legal sectors from our new home.

We celebrated a brilliant 2023 with go karting at Daytona Adventure Park and Christmas lunch at Fermented Brewery, Bar and Eatery - Upper Hutt on Friday. A few internal Freeman awards (good to have a laugh at ourselves!) and a sustainable secret santa session proved an excellent way to finish off a year of hard mahi. Go team! 🎄❄️☀️

The Freeman family turned Wellington's Round the Bay fun walk/run into a sea of blue this year😎

Congrats to Joshua Riddiford for completing a half marathon at record speed and the 10km crew: Jacob McSweeny, Jessica Kerr, Michelle Stanyon, and Gavin Evans (who we suspect were chasing after the donut box at the finish line 🍩).

And of course, huge thanks to Matt Freeman for providing the real motivation - lollies! 🍬🍬
