It was 40 years ago this month (the May school holidays, to be precise) that Andrew Fagan and I got together in his parents living room and started writing the first Mockers songs.
Most of them were a bit rubbish but as they were our first songs, we felt like we were inventing rock n roll!
It wasn’t long before Chas Mannell and Dale Monaghan joined us and we had ourselves a band!
This was one of those first songs.

Rumpus Recording has now been going 4 years.
It’s a bit of a roller coaster but this month has been the best month I’ve had in that time.
A couple of of big client jingles.
A redo of an old Stooges jingle.
And a couple of Christmas related jingles.
Oh. And I’ve released a Christmas song. Have I mentioned that?

It’s called ‘WHEN MARIAH SINGS’.
It didn’t win but it got on the short list, so it can’t be too bad. Can it?

I’ve just finished a jingle for a Southland client.
It went to air for the first time yesterday afternoon.
This morning at 9 o’clock, their opposition phoned the sales rep I’m dealing with and said
“I want a jingle too! How do I get one?”
I love it when that happens😎
