Period: 18hrs from 2:00am Tue to 8:00pm Tue

Forecast: Expect 150 to 200 mm of rain (possibly more in isolated spots) with intensities of 25 to 30 mm per hour possible. Note, some places near the coast south of Harihari may accumulate 100 to 120 mm during the same period.
Low chance of upgrading to a Red Warning.
Impact: Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible.
Action: Clear your drains and gutters to prepare for heavy rain. Avoid low-lying areas and drive cautiously.

Gentle Annie Seaside Accommodation and Camping Ground

In true Gentle Annie style of not doing things the easy way, uneven warped Rimu rafters and undulating concrete slabs were no match for the ‘yes’ men. 100 sandbags, 60 litres of (the stickiest ever!) glue, and scribing skirting boards like waves later, Steve and Dan have transformed the Rata Lodge with a beautiful new ceiling and Red Beech flooring. Their ‘can do’ attitude is amazing. Awesome to use some of the last of our Tōtara and Rimu (windfall from hurricane Ita) which has come up stunning. Big thank you also to Philipp, Dave and John for making this happen too. You guys are awesome!!
