Something exciting is coming to the Eastern Bay!

We’re getting ready to launch a brand-new 100% community radio station – created by the community, for the community.

This new station will be powered by the Eastern Bay Media Trust, a newly formed charitable trust. The Trust has one simple purpose:
👉 to give our community a platform.

A place where local voices, stories, organisations, and talent can be heard.

That means charities, sports groups, clubs, schools, churches, community services, and individuals will all be welcome to have airtime. Weekly shows, one-off specials, interviews, storytelling… if it serves the Eastern Bay, this station will make space for it.

🎵 Right now, we’re building our music library! 🎵

While 1XX, Bayrock, and Q97 lead the country in the amount of NZ music we play, this new station is designed to take things even further and truly champion local Eastern Bay artists.
👉 All genres.
👉 All styles.
👉 All levels of experience.

If you create music in the Eastern Bay, we want to hear it, and we want to play it. There will also be opportunities for artists to perform live on-air.

Hit music has it's outliers; the artists that go against the grain of 'pop' music and redefine what it means to make a hit track or album — who are the artists that first come to mind when you think of going against the grain?

Our vote is definitely Gorillaz — Feel Good Inc, Dirty Harry, and Kids with Guns were incredible when they first hit the scene on their Demon Days album!
..And just to make you feel old, that album came out in '05. Yep, 20 years ago.

He's a headliner for 'On The Mount at Wasing' at the Woodland Amphitheatre in Berkshire in 2026, and I'll be honest... If we were in the UK, I'd have a hard time convincing the fam NOT to go — MIKA was always on rotation for car road trips, along with Sean Kingston, and for some reason Greenday...
