Leaving the security of a job to start my own business was one of the most challenging and rewarding decisions of my life. I recently spoke with @MinaAmso on Notes From The Executive Podcast about this transformative experience.
It all began with a simple request for time off to care for my son who had chickenpox. Standing in my boss's office, asking for permission to be with my sick child, made me realize I wanted more control over my life and time. In that moment, I knew I had to be self-employed.
New Zealand, with its welcoming environment for startups, made this dream attainable. Over those ten days of quarantine, I sketched out the concept of my future business.
The journey was not just about building a business; it was about reclaiming my time, my purpose, and my life. It taught me the importance of seizing moments of clarity and acting on them, no matter how daunting they seem.
And from that I understood more and more where I fit, and where I should be focusing my time and energy on. The journey of life is still going and it will be a great one.
