20 years since its original release, Pegasus — the beloved sophomore album from Wellington’s The Phoenix Foundation is finally available on vinyl. Originally released in 2005, Pegasus helped shape the sound of New Zealand’s alternative music scene, blending dreamy psychedelia with indie pop charm.

The album evokes a drifting, introspective mood, with understated production (produced at The Surgery by Lee Peebles) that swells and recedes like waves. This subtle, ambient approach mirrors the lyrical themes of acceptance and stillness.

Jenny Mitchell - Forest House

With her fourth studio album, Forest House, Jenny Mitchell firmly establishes herself as one of New Zealand’s finest songwriting talents. Building on the lyrical strength of earlier releases—especially the acclaimed Wildfires—Mitchell’s new record offers a rich tapestry of country, folk, and gospel influences, all filtered through a voice and perspective that are uniquely her own.

Now based in Melbourne and currently touring with Kasey Chambers, Mitchell seems poised for wider recognition which she so rightly deserves.
Forest House finds power in the personal, using domestic imagery to explore universal themes with striking emotional clarity. Highlights include “Wildflower,” a fabulous collaboration with Michael Hood, and “Heart Like A House,” resonates as the spiritual sequel of “Like A Bird” from her previous album.
