Oman braces for indirect cyclone impact as Shakhti stirs Arabian Sea.Tropical Storm Shakhti has intensified in the northeast Arabian Sea, raising alerts across Oman as the system edges closer before veering eastward toward India. While Shakhti is expected to deviate eastward toward Indian territory from Sunday evening into Monday morning, indirect effects are likely to be felt along Oman’s coasts. These include scattered, limited rainfall in South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta, rising waves of 2–3.5 meters, and the possibility of seawater inundating low-lying areas and creeks during high tides in South Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, and Al Wusta governorates.Experts say the system will gradually weaken after its peak, but caution remains.
