Temperature falls to single digits in Oman as Saiq registers 9°C.Temperatures have taken a sharp dip across the Sultanate, with the mountain town of Saiq recording a brisk 9.9°C, the lowest temperature in the past 24 hours
Several other locations across Oman also reported cooler-than-usual conditions, with Saham registering 12.4°C, while Ibra and Yanqul both dropped to 13.6°C. The town of Nizwa logged 14.9°C, and Thumrait and Al Mazunah followed closely behind.
While the interior and highland regions cooled down, coastal and desert towns remained comparatively warmer.

Oman opens 5.5km dual carriageway linking Sultan Qaboos Road and Al Batinah Expressway in Liwa
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has inaugurated the Liwa Link Dualisation Project in North Al Batinah Governorate, connecting the Liwa Roundabout on Sultan Qaboos Road with the Al Batinah Expressway intersection. The newly upgraded dual carriageway spans 5.5 kilometres.

The General Secretariat for National Celebrations has released key logistical information concerning the 2025 Royal Fleet Review, focusing on public access, parking, and transportation.

In an effort to manage traffic flow and ensure smooth public attendance, designated parking areas have been allocated for spectators’ vehicles. Furthermore, the authorities have confirmed that transport services will be provided to ferry the public from these specified parking locations directly to the event site.

The three main parking zones in Al Araimi Complex, Qurum Park parking area, and the Children’s Museum parking area. These areas are strategically situated to accommodate a large volume of vehicles.

A family of six tragically died due to asphyxiation while asleep in the Al Atkiya area of the Wilayat of Al Amerat, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on X, on Wednesday.
Initial report indicates that the family (a couple and four children) inhaled carbon monoxide gas while they were sleeping and investigations are underway to ascertain the main cause of the incident.
