My parents have lived in El Salvador their entire lives, but it was only last year, Ida and I took them somewhere in their own country they had only visited a few times before.

I bet many Salvadorans can relate, that when El Salvador was known as one of the most dangerous countries in the world, there were places families went... and places they simply didn’t. That was also the case for my family 😔
What has always struck me is that my parents have been lucky enough to see other countries, other cities and other parts of the world, but there were still entire parts of their own country they had barely experienced 🙁
For many of our parents and grandparents, freely exploring the country simply was never part of their reality.
So when my parents got to discover places with in the country they had called home their entire lives for the first time this year, I felt incredibly grateful 🥹 I feel proud that I can now be the one showing them around, just like they showed me the world when I was younger 🙏
And this could be a gift you can give to your loved ones too. For those who had to leave the country or simply never had the chance to explore it the way we can now.
You can take them to a beach they’ve never visited. Show them a place that used to be inaccessible to them.
Drive through a part of the country they never got to explore. Stop safely along the way and create precious memories in a country they can now finally enjoy.
We know all of that can be very time and energy consuming, but it doesn’t have to 😮💨
