The Royal Air Force of Oman airlifted an Indian expatriate from Musandam to Muscat for immediate treatment on August 27, Wednesday. The above mentioned expat was in a critical status that caused the transfer from Khasab Hospital in Musandam to Khoula Hospital in Muscat.

A tourist fell to death at Jabal Samhan, from an elevated point during a climb attempt at the mountain. The incident happened at Mirbat in Dhofar Governorate where the above mentioned suffered severe injuries that caused the demise. The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority urges residents and tourists alike to exercise caution while carrying out activities during the autumn season.

In-flight usage of power banks has been banned by Emirates Airlines. While carrying one power bank (under 100 Watt Hours) on board is acceptable, charging the power bank or charging other devices through the same is prohibited.

Power banks must be stored only in the seat pockets or in a bag under the seat in front of you (as per Emirates).

This will be effective from October 1, 2025.
