It’s easy to forget just how small I am next to God’s creation until I see photos like these. Humbling, to say the least.

When the fish are hunting up in the wash, you have to put yourself in the thick of it. And when I need to stand up and work a big popper to get bit, I trust the Lightning Kayaks Nomad to handle the chop and keep me upright.

I've got Zach from Rapala down here in southern Panama with me this week to show him what our fishery is all about. They call this place The Tuna Coast... so I had to carve out a few hours to show him why.

This 80 pound yellowfin crushed the Rapala X-Rap Magnum rigged in a pretty unique way I came up with. But that little trick is a secret until after the local tournament in 2 weeks.

Either way... the smile in this photo is completely fake. After wrangling this girl up to the panga... my arms were shot. Holding her up for the photo shoot was a struggle.

Harold came down to all the way from Canada to escape winter and fish with me. He told me at dinner that he wanted a rooster, and on his first day fishing saltwater in his life, we put one on his lap. Congrats my man!

My first fishing experiences were soaking chicken livers and nightcrawlers in the river for catfish with my grandma, Georgia (I called her Nani). While the gear and bait may have been a bit more sophisticated with Chuck from Big South Fishing, it was a blast getting back to my roots and putting some blue cats in the boat here in the great state of . Whipped up some catfish and andouille gumbo at the RV park, and it fed our souls on a crisp fall night.

Life is good in the ‘Sipp, y’all! 🎣🍁🏕️
