Ambos gramáticos uno griego y el otro romano, que coincidieron en compilar palabras griegas inusuales y raras, ambos mencionaron al DACNIS como un ave de egipto no identificada plenamente.
Y complementada con un epíteto específico CAYANA que la ornitología temprana usaba con frecuencia toda especie provenientes de la selva amazonica.

Uno de las 80 lenguas Tupi (tribus Tupies de la amazonia) describían a un ave brillante como parte de la selva (selva brillante) y sonaba Catingá, que luego para nosotros suena COTINGA y se escribe Cotinga, tal nombre hoy encierra a una familia de aves particularmente hermosas a la que Brisson en 1760 las oficializó como cotinga.
La foto muestra a una Cotinga de mejillas blancas, endémica de Perú que se afinca en lugares remotos de mucha altitud en relación al mar.

This video is amazing because it gives you an idea of the number of birds that you can get only in about fifteen minutes of birding in the Manu National Park, we were able to recognize 65 species by sounds.

Definitely one of the most fascinating moments, when we enjoy birding is when we do throughout cloud forest of Manu National Park southern-Peru.
