Spears stopped invaders for 400 years. Maps and lawyers stopped the oil companies.

When the Ecuadorian government put 500,000 acres of the Amazon up for oil auctions, the Waorani took them to court... and subsequently won a historic legal battle to protect their homeland.

Here is what it takes to protect the last wild places on Earth.

Five years ago I landed in Peru without a single word of Spanish. Ok, like maximum 10 words 😅

No apps, no classes, no teacher to explain it to me. I learned it the way it's actually spoken... in the street, in the market, on the bus, from getting mercilessly bullied until I could hold a conversation 😭

What they won't tell you is that Peruvian Spanish 🇵🇪 is almost it's own language sometimes fr. The slang is endless. Half of it won't show up in any textbook and the other half changes depending on which region you're standing in. You can be "fluent" in spanish and still be completely lost here.

This is for all the gring@s that say "yaaas I know Spanish!" And then die their first 10 second conversation down here 😂🤣

I need you to seriously try out c*ncha de tu m*re and tell me how it goes 👇 🤭💀

Just fire, water, and thousands of years of survival knowledge.

Deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon, living with the Waorani community on their ancestral land. This is how monkey has been prepared for millenia... thrown directly over an open flame to singe, boiled in plain water, and shared.

It’s tough, intensely smoky, and a rare look into true ancestral living. Nolan Saumure and I are always down for some suspicious meat
