1997 is the debut release of Acume, the project of Diego Risco, a Peruvian producer based in Italy. The album is titled 1997 in reference to the year Diego discovered IDM, as well as the period in which several records were released that would later profoundly influence his approach to music production.
Among the albums from that year that shaped his sonic identity are Lunatic Harness by U-ziq, Hard Normal Daddy by Squarepusher, and “Girl/Boy” by Aphex Twin.
The name Acume comes from the Latin Acumen, whose synonyms include insight, shrewdness, sharpness, intuition, ingenuity, and style. Metaphorically, Acume evokes a sharp and penetrating mind, a sensibility capable of analyzing and transforming sound with precision and character.
1997 is characterized by its technical complexity and enveloping melodies, building a sonic universe that invites active and analytical listening, where every detail reveals new layers and nuances.

1997 es el lanzamiento debut de Acume, el proyecto de Diego Risco, productor peruano radicado en Italia. El álbum lleva por título 1997 en referencia al año en que Diego descubre el IDM, así como al período en que fueron publicados varios discos que más tarde influenciarían profundamente su manera de producir música.
Entre los álbumes de ese año que marcaron su identidad sonora se encuentran Lunatic Harness de U-ziq, Hard Normal Daddy de Squarepusher y “Girl/Boy” de Aphex Twin.
El nombre Acume proviene del latín Acumen, cuyos sinónimos incluyen perspicacia, sagacidad, agudeza, intuición, ingenio y estilo. Metafóricamente, Acume evoca una mente afilada y penetrante, una sensibilidad capaz de analizar y transformar el sonido con precisión y carácter.
