Marking 35 years since My Dying Bride’s funeral march commenced with 1991’s ‘Towards the Sinister’ demo, the band is currently working with Peaceville Records on a comprehensive vinyl boxset containing the classic early titles, due for release this summer. More details to follow in the coming months. Meanwhile, here’s a glimpse of some of the art to be included, from Matt Vickerstaff.

Las autoridades noruegas han iniciado una amplia operación de búsqueda tras la desaparición de Snorre W. Ruch, fundador de Thorns, y General Gribbsphiiser, líder de Slagmaur. Ambos músicos fueron reportados como desaparecidos el pasado fin de semana mientras realizaban una expedición en una zona montañosa de Trøndelag, en el centro de Noruega. Según reportes locales, se encontraban desarrollando un proyecto audiovisual vinculado a sus bandas al momento de perder contacto.

Equipos de rescate, helicópteros y unidades caninas han sido desplegados en la región, pero las condiciones climáticas extremas, con nieve y bajas temperaturas, han dificultado las labores. Fuentes cercanas aseguran que los músicos portaban equipo fotográfico y vestuario escénico, lo que refuerza la hipótesis de que estaban grabando material artístico. La policía ha solicitado a los residentes locales cualquier información que pueda ayudar a dar con su paradero.

Snorre W. Ruch es una figura esencial dentro del black metal noruego, reconocido por su trabajo con Mayhem y por haber definido el sonido de la segunda ola del género con Thorns. Por su parte, Slagmaur, liderada por Gribbsphiiser, ha sido una de las bandas más enigmáticas y teatrales de la escena, caracterizada por su estética ritualista y conceptual.

The Stormcrowfleet 30th anniversary edition will come with a special booklet: A 20-page A5 in the style of 90’s ’zines. On it’s pages there is a preface from Skepticism and a version of Scott Koerber’s excellent article on the album, originally published in 2014 in the Hall of Fame by Decibel Magazine. It also comes with a fresh intro section by Koerber.

On May 24th 2025 Koerber was enjoying the Maryland Deathfest and spotted someone wearing the rare first ever Skepticism shirt - the dark green Lead and Aether one. Moments later Koerber realised that it was in fact Eero. A few instants later he also spotted the rest of the band nearby. This was a brilliant encounter - meeting in person a full 11 years after the Hall of Fame article. Soon afterwards the idea of creating a special booklet with the article for the anniversary edition emerged.

The Stormcrowfleet 30th Anniversary edition is now on preorder at Svart Records as double vinyl, CD and accompanied with a reprint of the AEOTHER KAEAR demo tape plus a T-Shirt.
