This is true in Wales as well as in Ireland, you go to someone's house, and she asks you if you want a cup of tea. You say no, thank you, you're really just fine. She asks if you're sure. You say of course you're sure, really, you don't need a thing. Well, she says then, I was going to get myself some anyway, so it would be no trouble. Ah, you say, well, if you were going to get yourself some, I wouldn't mind a spot of tea, at that, so long as it's no trouble and I can give you a hand in the kitchen. Then you go through the whole thing all over again until you both end up in the kitchen drinking tea and chatting.
In America, someone asks you if you want a cup of tea, you say no, and then you don't get any damned tea.

Good morning. I just attained my goal of living to be 80! None of family of origin lived to be this age. I decided to use the mantra “Begin again” for this new phase of me life. I am a widow of 20 years.
I moved to northern Kentucky 18 years ago ftom Indiana when my daughter asked me to move here after her first child was born to be “a part of his everyday life”. And I have been exactly that for all three of her children.
I enjoy my home, especially this porch where I spend time reading & watch whatever animal meanders through my backyard. I have sing in my church choir & have been a part of a Bible study for about 15 years. I exercise regularly by walking & wall palates. I live in a condo with a pool where all 3 of my grands have learned to swim. During the winter I help out at the preschool at my church. That keeps me moving & excited.

Dull Report: I took some things to the consignment store. While they checked over what I brought in, I did a little shopping on my own. I really do have a shopping problem. I love, love, love to shop. I had to go back the next day to buy this dress. If for no other reason than to wear it to a family function and aggravated my Momma and Aunts. I've been told I'm too big and old to dress like a teen ager. They are so silly. After I shorten it 3 inches, it will be perfectly appropriate for me. I strive to be that old lady. The one they shake their heads at and wag their tongues about. I do think that I need one of those fruit hats with some bananas in it. Y'all have a great day and have some fun too. Plus, this dress has pockets. Life is good.

I’m so dull that when I bought my house I looked at approximately 250 houses before I bought. I knew the minute I walked in this was the one! I bought it first because it was on a dead end dirt road. It has a creek running trough the entire property. I can’t see my neighbors. I’ve lived here in this house for 14 years and I couldn’t be happier! 4 acres of bliss. I have the best Great Dane and a little Maltipoo dog. I live for the garden in spring, summers and fall here in Alaska. I hibernate in the winter. My place is called Harmony Creek Farm. I grow a lot of medicinal and edible plants.

Hello, I'm Andrea and something to know about me is that,I am a Special Olympics athlete in New Jersey. This weekend is the summer games a d hopefully, my bocce partner and I will get the gold. I will let you all know how we did on Sunday.
Update: I am sad to report that I never made it to the games, because I fell yesterday morning and had a lot of pain in my left knee

I am off to Sligo, Ireland this morning. I will spend the next 2 weeks getting to know Ireland better, with a home base in Skibbereen. I arrived at the train station, 30 pound suitcase in hand (darn cameras!) to find four flights of steps and out of order escalators and elevators. I made it one step before two gentlemen came to my rescue. Then, I could not make friends with the ticket machine. Along came a young lady who said, “oh, these things are so confusing even to us who travel all the time”, then promptly got my ticket spit out of the machine. Along came another to lift my bag onto the train and assist me into the train(no,not needed but very much appreciated). They say Ireland is filled with guardian angels and magic. I run into the “guardian angels” every single day. It restores one’s faith in humanity. Maybe that is the magic of this beautiful island.

I have lived in my house for about 10 years. About 2 weeks ago I noticed this little elf for the first time. I love all things Christmas and I wanted to make sure he is always remembered. So I dressed him up a bit. I am as old as my tongue and older than my teeth. Size 6 shoe, but a 7 feels so good I buy an 8.

I’m 63 years old and I still set the table for meals, even if it's just for me. I love to use placemats, but I don’t always match them to the tablecloth. I love to add flowers and candles, but it’s a little too warm in my apartment for that tonight. And as is very obvious, I may set the table, but I don’t always clear it off first.
Its kind of peculiar how much something as mundane as setting a place at the table to eat my meal matters to me while at the same time, how little the clutter on the rest of the table matters.
At any rate, I enjoy the entire process of planning my meal, preparing it and then sitting down at my table and enjoying my own company.
(Don’t laugh at my steak. I’m still learning how to use my air fryer.)

Hello dear dullians(guess your anything but dull 🙂 )greetings from diani kenya. Am 43 yo 4 kids youngest 3yr. Live a few minutes walk to the best beach in the world but i rarely go there ..its usually so hot makes me dull and hot prefer staying indoors. I do macrame and crotchet and my whole house looks like a junkyard of threads and baskets haha. Am so halpp to have found this group..makes me smile reading your posts. My photo ..i hate or i dont know to pose for photos haha

I have come to realize the dull are the people who stop to say hi.who takes in the details and when they come together they are not dull anymore. Thankyou all who reached out to me for encouragement and sauppor in my crafts. Love you all
