The 2025 Goroka Flower Show was an absolute delight! 🌸✨

Held over two vibrant days (June 20–21), the event highlighted the incredible floriculture talents of Goroka! From stunning floral displays to creative stall designs, the show was a true celebration of passion and artistry.

Hosted by the Goroka Show Committee as a lead-up to the main Goroka Show in September, the event welcomed participants not just from the Eastern Highlands but from other provinces as well. It was a beautiful platform for creativity, community, and a little friendly competition; with prizes awarded for the most creative presentations 💐

Two of LAKE Media’s interns, currently studying Communication Arts (Journalism) at Divine Word University, recently joined two fellow fourth-year students on a media exposure trip to Port Moresby.

The students attended the 2025 Media Summit and Media Awards Night on May 3, accompanied by two of their lecturers. Their trip was sponsored by ExxonMobil through the PNG Chamber of Resources & Energy, as part of their efforts to nurture the next generation of journalists and media professionals in Papua New Guinea.

The summit gave them the opportunity to connect with media professionals, news editors, and corporate communicators, while the awards night celebrated journalism excellence in PNG.

At LAKE Media, we are proud to see our team take part in such impactful experiences that complement their classroom learning and develop their confidence, network, and perspective. And thank you to ExxonMobil and PNGCORE for your investment in media education and future storytellers of PNG.

On May 3, our dedicated team at Divine Word University stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their fellow Communication Arts students in the celebration of World Press Freedom Day.

Guided by the theme, 'Reporting in the Brave New World; The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media,' they engaged with students at various primary schools across Madang Town. The discussions centered on artificial intelligence, specifically addressing its potential impact on student education, principles of press freedom, and the broader media landscape.

At LAKE Media, we deeply value initiatives like this because they underscore the critical importance of media literacy and a free press; cornerstones of a healthy and informed society.
