CO**SE DRIFTS ASHORE ON MBUNAI VILLAGE, MANUS PROVINCE.

A deceased body of a man was discovered this morning Thursday 5th September at Mbunai Village in the Penabu Nali Sopat LLG, south coast of Manus Province. Fishermen discovered the body sometime around 6 am to 7am very early in the morning a float between Ndrover Island and Mbunai mainland. Immediately recognizing the co**se the fishermen with other locals recovered the body and floated it ashore before notifying Manus Police in Lorengau Town.
Although there haven’t been any notifications of missing persons in the area or outer nearby local islands, the body as now been identified and is in connection with the boat recently salvaged off the coast of Los Negros.

The bloated body is of an adult male of Mira, Musau origins in New Ireland, a teacher married to a local from Sapon in the Lele mahdi Bupi Chupeu LLG he was only wearing blue shorts intact with his underwear when discovered, the co**se had no hints of decomposition or corruption from marine scavengers such as bird and fishes pointing out the possibility of a very recent incident the previous day or the earliest around two to three days old with very obvious signs of drowning, from this rational assumptions facts are still sketchy with official updates developing as police investigation is underway to establish the back story behind this gruesome catch.

NBC MANUS STUDIO BREAK IN

NBC Manus Studio was broken in on Friday night the 30th of AUGUST where a considerable amount of studio items were removed by the burglars. The incident which was believed to have occurred somewhere between 12 and 3 am supposedly happened in plain sight right under security lights and incredibly no witnesses or passerby sighted the burglary while it was taking place.
The burglars used a crowbar to tear into both doors on the main studio building before proceeding to break into the Studio Technician’s work room where some items were removed, they also swept through the main studio and production rooms where very valuable portable recording equipments where taken. The NBC Administration building which stands directly adjacent to the production studio was also broken into through a rear door also using a crowbar; the exiting Provincial Director’s office located within the admin building was broken into essentially suffering the loss of valuable electronics in her office cabinet.
NBC Manus is fenced however the ongoing construction on the road culvert by Covec PNG Ltd to upgrade the Manus East West highway had taken down a significant length of fencing behind the Administration building along the main highway leading up to Tamat, this temporary opening has already caused inconvenience for the Studio with unwelcomed entry of pedestrians and loiters entering and exiting unsupervised. Only last month a thief entered through this opening and snatched a mobile phone right off a studio guest’s hand while she was on the phone in broad daylight and fled back through that opening.
This Break-in has since been reported to the police for criminal investigations, already a significant number of suspects are allegedly youths within the Lorengau Urban area especially in Wards 4 to Wards 6 who have been named by the cooperation of the general public and anonymous tip-offs where now detectives are yet to interview and apprehend suspects.
NBC Manus has been experiencing such harassments and break-ins in the past where it had subsided over a period of time but unfortunately has now restarted again this year exclusively with the consecutive break-ins and burglary already experienced personally by the new acting provincial director Mr. Peter Sindra since taking up the posting.
Both NBC structures were simultaneously broken into that same night while just near a kilometer away the Provincial Division of Community Development in Ward 5 Lorengau Urban LLG was also hit by burglars whom also tried to break into the building. Both incidents occurred that same Friday night, it is more likely the incidents were relatively committed by the same group however there is no evidence yet to establish these facts or also establish the motive behind this string of incidences.
In a day prior to the incident on the 29th and 30th a mass break out had occurred at Manus Police headquarters cell where 14 suspects in custody broke out and evaded police pursuit, fugitives are now on the run where the General public is advised to take extra precautions and report any suspicious faces or activities within the Neighborhood likewise NBC Manus has appealed to the general public to refrain from purchasing suspicious stolen properties from street sellers and also report to police any information regarding NBC Manus and Division of Community Development Break – Ins.
NBC Manus also wishes to advise the general public that since investigations are active with the only broadcasting studio tagged as a crime scene and also with the absence of production resources and equipments, Radio broadcast will be inconsistent for an indefinite period of time until further notice. Maus bilong Chauka apologises for the any inconveniences caused from our on own professional loss.
