One of the NFS seats flew onto the field, and the NFS management probably thought an eagle had flown onto the field or that a seat from a coaster bus had fallen off.

NFS management must take action on this kind of attitude.

The same supporters who stormed onto the field in 2016 against the same team, the Gurias, are now doing it again.

The Mt Hagen Eagles were suspended because of this kind of behaviour.

The penalty in 2016: The Papua New Guinea National Rugby League (PNGNRL) handed the club a three-year ban, with the Mt Hagen Eagles missing two full seasons before returning to the competition in 2019.

📌 This kind of behaviour should not happen, especially from supporters. Attacking other supporters, removing seats or damaging Santos property only shows that you are not mature enough and do not know how to support your team properly.

Prime Minister Hon. James Marape has called on Pacific Island nations to strengthen regional unity as geopolitical tensions, climate change and global economic instability continue to impact Pacific economies.

Speaking at the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Plenary Session in Palau today, PM Marape said the Pacific’s greatest strength lies in standing together.

“The world around us is fragile. Our strength is in our collective unity.”

PM Marape said PNG and other Pacific nations continue to feel the effects of imported inflation and rising fuel costs caused by global events beyond their control.

He reaffirmed PNG’s support for the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent and Fiji’s Ocean of Peace concept, stressing that the Pacific must remain united and avoid being divided by geopolitical competition.

“Our collective Pacific continent, the Blue Pacific Continent, remaining together as one people — that is important.”

Critics in Australia questioned whether Papua New Guinea would be a safe and attractive destination for NRL stars to live and play for the PNG Chiefs.

Some commentators predicted that the PNG Chiefs would struggle to recruit major rugby league stars willing to base themselves in Port Moresby.

However, those doubts are now being challenged by the growing list of high-profile players linked with the PNG Chiefs.

The club has already secured or been linked with some of rugby league's biggest names, including Jarome Luai, Alex Johnston, Connor Watson, Matty Lees, Zac Lomax, Brian To'o and Joey Manu.

On Sunday night at around 10pm at Ensisi valley in the streets of Port Moresby, another moment captured the attention of rugby league fans in Papua New Guinea.

A photo circulating on social media shows Wests Tigers halfback and PNG Chiefs Player #001, Jarome Luai, spending time with fans at the Ensisi Tari Community in Port Moresby at around 10pm.

For many Papua New Guineans, the moment sends a powerful message.

Despite concerns and criticism from some overseas commentators about safety in Port Moresby, Luai was out meeting and connecting with ordinary people and rugby league fans late at night.
