| The 2025 USIBA Division Athletic Meet has officially come to a close, and the Municipality of Trento has proven its strength in sportsmanship and excellence at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Cultural Center today, August 29.

With a total haul of 71 gold, 64 silver, and 38 bronze medals, Trento emerged as the overall champion, edging out San Francisco with 69 gold medals and Prosperidad with 48.

This triumph is not measured by medals alone. It is the fruit of discipline, patience, and shared responsibility. Every victory came from countless hours of training, the sacrifices of athletes and coaches, the quiet encouragement of families, and the steady support of the community.

Through the Special Education Fund, we as a community made sure to set aside Php 300,000 for athletes’ uniforms and Php 200,000 for food, ensuring that the needs of our delegates were met with dignity and care. This is not about prestige or recognition but about our collective commitment to prepare the youth not only for competitions but also for the lifelong lessons of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

True support for athletes is more than claiming credit at the finish line. It is about walking with them from the start, investing in their growth, and helping them build values that will guide them beyond sports. By giving our young people the space to use their energy in sports, we help them find direction, purpose, and confidence.

Trento’s victory in the USIBA Division Athletic Meet is therefore not simply a win to celebrate but a reminder. It shows us what is possible when we work together with humility and a shared vision: to nurture talent, support the youth, and believe in the power of sports to transform lives.
