SPECIAL NEWS REPORT: Over the course of three months, the flood-control controversy has dominated and sparked widespread discussions on social media platforms, as both ordinary citizens and prominent personalities criticized certain politicians, contractors, and their families over alleged corruption and flaunting of lavish lifestyles.

Mounting scrutiny has focused on some of the Philippines’ largest public works contractors as hearings into the suspected “ghost projects” funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) proceed in the Senate and House of Representatives.

This is part one of The Bedan Herald's special news report on the DPWH flood control controversy.
