π—Ÿπ—’π—’π—ž | The Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony was held at the VSUA Gymnasium on September 04, 2026, to officially recognize qualified education students from the BEED and BSEd programs in Science and Math as teaching interns.

Mr. Erik Terora, an alumnus of VSUA, the guest speaker of the ceremony, shared a meaningful message that he wanted all interns to carry with them: the PINNING, which stands for Passion for teaching, Integrity in service, Nurturing every learner, Never give up, Inspiring young minds, Navigating challenges with courage, and Growing into a great educator.

β€œDo not simply enter the classroom because you are required to complete your teaching internship, but because you have purpose… and let your passion remind you that you are not simply preparing lessons; you are preparing possibilities,” Mr. Terora said.

This was followed by the candle lighting, pinning rites, oath-taking, the batch message from Mr. Carl Jhon Abala, a BSEd Math student, and the senior class song.

– Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.

Today, August 21, we observe Ninoy Aquino Day in solemn remembrance of Senator Benigno β€œNinoy” Aquino Jr.

Senator Aquino was a statesman, journalist, and opposition leader who stood for democracy during Martial Law. On this day in 1983, he returned to the Philippines from exile and was assassinated at the Manila International Airport. His death became a turning point that contributed to the restoration of democratic institutions in the country.

His declaration that β€œThe Filipino is worth dying for,” continues to serve as a reminder of the value of public service, civic responsibility, and national unity.

As we commemorate this day, may we honor his legacy by upholding the principles of democracy, truth, and integrity in our schools, workplaces, and communities.
