𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗨𝗣𝗔𝗗 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀

Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT), in partnership with DOLE, DSWD, and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Alcantara, successfully conducted training in Agricultural Crops Production NC II for 95 TUPAD beneficiaries. The initiative aimed to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities by equipping participants with hands-on knowledge in crop production, farm maintenance, and organic practices. The training was designed to go beyond short-term employment, helping beneficiaries build long-term skills for self-reliance.

The program was a result of strong inter-agency collaboration, with each partner playing a key role in supporting the training. DOLE and DSWD facilitated the identification and mobilization of qualified beneficiaries under the TUPAD program, while the Municipal Agriculture Office provided technical inputs and on-the-ground support. RNIT, as the training provider, offered free training and assessment, along with access to agricultural tools, ensuring a practical and meaningful learning experience aligned with TESDA’s competency standards.

The training would not have been possible without the support of the active Barangay Captain of Comod-om, Hon. Niery G. Zacarias, whose assistance in mobilization and local coordination was instrumental to the program’s success.

By providing skills training that directly addresses the needs of local communities, RNIT helps promote food security, reduce unemployment, and support the reintegration of vulnerable sectors into productive economic activities.

Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) held its Training Induction Program (TIP) on July 8, 2025 for scholars under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) in Bread and Pastry Production NC II and Carpentry NC II.

The event formally welcomed the new batch of trainees and introduced them to TESDA’s programs, policies, and training expectations. Ms. Zarah Faa, representing the Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Romblon, highlighted TESDA’s mission to equip Filipinos with skills for employment and livelihood.

The STEP scholarship provides free training, national assessment, daily allowance, and starter toolkits—giving beneficiaries a clear pathway to employment or small business opportunities.

On behalf of the Vocational School Administrator II, Mr. Prenz Jumer B. Lota, Vocational Instruction Supervisor I, and Ms. April Joy P. Lota, HRMO-Designate, also gave motivational messages, encouraging the scholars to make the most of this opportunity.

Also present were the assigned trainers, Kathren L. Melchor (Bread and Pastry Production NC II) and June Ryan G. Fuentes (Carpentry NC II), who assured scholars of their full support during the training.

RNIT remains a strong partner of TESDA in delivering quality technical education and preparing Romblomanons for a productive future.

𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘺 7, 2025

To help prevent the spread of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases, the Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) conducted a misting operation on July 7, 2025. The activity was made possible through the strong coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alcantara and the Municipal Health Office.

The LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Riza G. Pamorada, MD, and Dr. Jobin G. Maestro, Municipal Health Officer, provided the personnel, supplies, and equipment used for the misting. The operation targeted potential mosquito breeding areas across the campus to ensure a safer and healthier environment for trainees and staff.

RNIT extends its heartfelt thanks to the LGU Alcantara and the Municipal Health Office for their continued support and commitment to public health.

𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 | SAAD MIMAROPA, RNIT partner to equip FAs with value-adding skills in chicken and food processing

To support income diversification and strengthen community – based enterprises, the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) MIMAROPA, in partnership with the Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT), conducted a series of training on chicken and food processing for four farmers’ associations in the province from March to April 2025.

The training equipped beneficiaries with value-adding skills to transform raw agricultural products into marketable goods with higher value, in support of enterprise development under the SAAD Program Phase 2.

The Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) actively joined the 2025 Nutrition Month Celebration of the Municipality of Alcantara, standing in unity with the community to promote health and well-being on July 1, 2025.

RNIT personnel, led by Ms. Anna Christina C. Martinez, Vocational School Administrator II, took part in the “Walk for a Cause to End Malnutrition”, showing their support in raising awareness about proper nutrition.

Adding to the celebration, Engr. Seth G. Gregorio, Instructor I, emerged as champion, proving that advocacy and healthy living go hand in hand.

RNIT continues to support national health initiatives and promote wellness within and beyond the institution.

Partnership is more than just a collaboration. For institutions like the Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT), it is essential to deliver accessible, high-quality technical education that transforms lives and uplifts communities.

In line with this mission, Ms. Anna Christina C. Martinez, Vocational School Administrator II, together with Mr. Felipe S. Gado, Assistant Professor III, visited Mr. Orville F. Mallorca, Officer-in-Charge of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Romblon. Their discussion focused on the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project, a key initiative of DTI that helps improve the productivity and efficiency of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by giving them access to modern tools, equipment, and skills development.

For RNIT, this project presents exciting possibilities. With access to better resources, the school can enhance its training delivery and strengthen its Income Generating Projects (IGPs). Trainees gain more hands-on learning experiences while the school sustains programs that benefit both learners and the wider community.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both RNIT and DTI expressing optimism about future collaborations. This meaningful conversation reflects RNIT’s continuous effort to find practical solutions, close gaps, and prepare its trainees to build skills that lead to employment and livelihood.

Because when education and industry come together with shared purpose, everyone moves forward.

This innovative initiative reflects RNIT’s commitment to delivering quality training that stays relevant and aligned with current industry demands.
