The Romblon Public Theater transformed into a vibrant hub of hope, skills, and opportunities during the World Cafรฉ of Opportunities (WCO), a landmark event that connected jobseekers, students, government agencies, and industry partners on August 14, 2025.
The program began with a warm welcome from Mr. Joseph R. Coching, on behalf of Acting Provincial Training Center Administrator Felipe S. Gado, representing the host institution. Messages of support and commitment were delivered by Ms. Vanessa Jane D. Aceveda, CPA, MBA, Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Romblon; Mr. Ronald Geronimo, Head of PESO Romblon; Mr. Philip D. Ruga, Provincial Director of DOLE Romblon; Ms. Angelina M. Carreon, Regional Director of TESDA MIMAROPA; Hon. Gerard S. Montojo, Municipal Mayor of Romblon; Hon. Maria Rhosarean A. Solis, District I Board Member; Hon. Armando Gutierrez, Vice Governor of the Province of Romblon; and Hon. Carry Falculan, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, on behalf of Governor Trina Firmalo-Fabic.
Partner agencies such as PSA, PhilHealth, DTI, Pag-IBIG, BIR, and Land Bank were also present, reinforcing strong government support and services for Romblomanons.
Hiring companies including Sunwest Inc., El Elohe Group of Companies, Approche Hospitality Management Corporation, Megatrend Workforce Management, AsiaPro Multipurpose Cooperative, and Mitsukoshi Motors (Romblon Branch) shared valuable insights on job opportunities and industry expectations, providing attendees with a clearer pathway to employment.
The WCO 2025 featured the following highlights:
1. ๐๐ผ๐ฏ ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป. Applicants were directly connected with employers for career opportunities. A total of 550 clients were served during the event. Among them, seven (7) were Hired-on-the-Spot (HOTS) and ten (10) were Near-Hired, pending compliance with requirements. This clearly showed the programโs effectiveness in bridging opportunities for Romblomanons.
2. ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐. Clients were also able to access the services of partner agencies such as DOLE, DSWD, PESO, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and SSS. A total of 116 clients availed of assistance for Employment Documentary Requirements and Government-Mandated Memberships, which further supported their employment, livelihood, and social protection needs.
3. ๐ฆ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป. A video presentation highlighted inspiring journeys of TESDA graduates who transformed their training into meaningful employment, proving the life-changing impact of TESDA programs and partnerships.
4. ๐ฆ๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป. Trainees and trainers from Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT), Provincial Training Center Romblon (PTC), and Monfort Academy presented their technical expertise, showcasing the competence and industry readiness of Romblomanons.
5. ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐. ๐ง๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐บ๐ฏ๐น๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ. More than just a pageant, this event served as a platform to empower employees from TTIs and TVIs in Romblon by highlighting their confidence, talents, and values. It became a celebration of empowerment, pride, and unity within the TESDA community.
6. ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ง๐๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐น. Recognitions were given to dedicated employees and personnel from the TESDA Provincial Office, TTIs, and TVIs in Romblon, honoring their outstanding contributions in advancing technical-vocational education and training in the province.
The event concluded with Ms. Rochelle Zulueta, Senior TESD Specialist of TESDA Romblon, delivering heartfelt closing remarks.
The success of the WCO 2025 was made possible through the collaboration of the PTC Romblon, RNIT, and all the Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) in Romblon. Truly, sa TESDA, kapag sama-sama, kayang-kaya!
