Today’s episode of Ating Alamin sa RNIT-TESDA on Radyo Natin once again inspired listeners by showcasing how RNIT continues to open doors of opportunity for its trainees and graduates. Ms. Frances Kie Jane S. Marin, Instructor I, Career Advocate, and Guidance Counselor- Designate, shared about the Skills to Succeed (S2S) Academy, a program that empowers learners with essential skills, career readiness, and the confidence needed to succeed in the workplace or even start their own livelihood. She emphasized the importance of guiding trainees not only in academics but also in building the right mindset to face real-world challenges.

On the other hand, Ms. Melanie P. Mendoza, School Librarian II and Job Placement Officer, highlighted the many employment opportunities available to TESDA graduates and proudly shared the story of successful RNIT graduates who are now thriving in their chosen career path. Her insights gave listeners a deeper appreciation of how training, guidance, and job placement services come together to help learners transform their skills into meaningful employment.

Hosted by Ms. Ma. Melody Galicia and Ms. Jun Fely Galisanao, the episode reminded everyone that RNIT-TESDA’s mission goes beyond teaching technical skills—it is also about empowering individuals, changing lives, and strengthening communities through quality technical-vocational education and training. Truly, with the support of initiatives like the S2S Academy and the dedication of RNIT’s advocates, success is within reach for every trainee who dares to dream and work hard.

Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) proudly took part in the celebration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s birthday, joining TESDA Romblon and Provincial Training Center Romblon in bringing meaningful activities to the people of Cajidiocan, Romblon. The event showcased skills empowerment, livelihood opportunities, and the strong spirit of community partnership.

RNIT played a key role in the day’s success by spearheading the Entrepreneurship Level IV Training, facilitated by Mr. Prenz Jumer B. Lota and Engr. Seth G. Gregorio. The institute also extended its support in the distribution of toolkits to completers of Raise Organic Hogs, Driving NC II, and Bread and Pastry Production NC II, as well as in the distribution of Training Support Fund to the trainees.

In addition, RNIT showed its commitment beyond the training venue by supporting the Job Fair at the Odiongan Public Plaza, organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)- Romblon Provincial Office and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)- Odiongan. Together with Ms. Melanie P. Mendoza and Ms. Frances Kie Jane S. Marin, RNIT provided enrollment and assessment assistance while promoting its programs and Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives.

The celebration was made even more meaningful with the media coverage led by Correspondent Ma. Melody G. Galicia, together with the RNIT Communications and Technical Support Unit. The coverage was streamed live on TESDA Region IV-B’s official page, allowing a wider audience to witness the event and share in the community’s milestones.

Guided by Ms. Anna Christina C. Martinez, Vocational School Administrator II, RNIT continues to stand as a strong partner of TESDA Romblon in empowering communities through skills training, livelihood support, and opportunities for sustainable development.

More than just a birthday tribute, RNIT’s presence highlighted unity, service, and empowerment — bringing hope and tangible opportunities to the people of Romblon.

In celebration of TESDA’s 31st founding anniversary, Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) conducted a Health and Wellness Activity on August 29, 2025.

It started with an energetic Zumba session led by the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (DMET)- Batch 1 trainees and Driving NC II trainees, setting the tone for a fun and health-focused event. A Gratitude Wall was also set up to honor TESDA’s 31 years of empowering and training Filipinos for a better future.

The highlight of the program was a health lecture on “Measles: A Continuing Public Health Concern – Why Adults up to 59 Years Old Should Be Vaccinated in the Philippines”, delivered by Ma. Melody Galicia, School Nurse II. This was followed by Ms. Glaiza Mae M. Lota, Public Health Nurse II of the Rural Health Unit of Alcantara, who emphasized the importance of receiving a booster dose of the Measles Rubella (MR) Vaccine, especially with the ongoing outbreak. She assured participants that the vaccine is free, safe, and with minimal side effects.

A total of 35 faculty members and trainees received their MR vaccination from Nurse Glaiza and Nurse Andrew Moreno during the activity, demonstrating the RNIT community’s commitment to health and safety.Through this celebration, RNIT joins TESDA in 31 years of service—promoting wellness, gratitude, and resilience for the future.

𝑨𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕 20, 2025/ 𝑳𝒐𝒐𝒄, 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒏- The Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) aired its third episode of Ating Alamin sa RNIT-TESDA on Radyo Natin last August 20, 2025, with hosts Jun Fely Galisanao and Melody Galicia. The episode highlighted the institution’s newly offered qualifications that will open more opportunities for Romblomanons.

The discussion featured exciting programs such as Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC III, PV Systems Maintenance NC III, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC III, Food and Beverage Services NC III, Events Management Services NC III, and Housekeeping NC II. These programs are designed to equip learners with technical expertise and industry-relevant competencies that are highly in demand both locally and abroad.

To provide further insights, the segment welcomed esteemed guests including Engr. John ViC Darwin G. Angelino, Jr., Engr. Jonas C. Lorenzo, Engr. Seth G. Gregorio, Joysedyll M. Fajutnao, Valerine G. Ignacio, and Violery L. Gaad, who shared their knowledge and experiences about the value of these programs in uplifting communities and preparing learners for real-world employment.

Through this radio program, RNIT continues to strengthen its commitment to bringing education closer to the people, promoting skills development, and preparing future-ready graduates who can contribute to national and global progress.

On August 21, 2025, the Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) formally turned over the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) toolkits, an initiative of Congressman Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona funded through his congressional allocation, to graduates, equipping them with both skills and resources to empower them to build their own livelihood opportunities.

Vocational School Administrator II Anna Christina C. Martinez, MAED, opened the program with her welcome remarks, expressing gratitude to the partner agencies, local government units, and stakeholders for their continued support to TESDA programs and for empowering the graduates to pursue meaningful livelihood opportunities.

Acting Provincial Director Vanessa Jane D. Aceveda, CPA, MBA, delivered the Director’s Message, highlighting the value of the toolkits as instruments for self-reliance. She encouraged graduates to maximize the resources given to them, continue honing their skills, and contribute to community development.

Representatives from different Local Government Units (LGUs) also showed their strong support on behalf of their respective Local Chief Executives:

• LGU Alcantara – Ms. Adelyn F. Rodero, Secretary
• LGU Looc – Engr. Alfred A. Bancoro II, MPDC
• LGU Santa Maria – Ms. Mirabella A. Maraño, MSWDO

On behalf of Congressman Madrona, Hon. Aaron C. Madrona, Mayor of San Agustin, inspired graduates by emphasizing sustainability and empowerment. He reminded everyone to treat the toolkits as a privilege and not to take them for granted. He also shared that in order to thrive in the 21st century, one must be trustworthy, collaborative, and capable of harnessing the power of digital tools.

Also present was Mr. Joseph R. Coching, representing Acting PTC Administrator Felipe S. Gado, who gave the closing remarks. The event culminated in the distribution of starter toolkits to graduates of various qualifications:

• 73 graduates – Driving NC II
• 23 graduates – Automotive Servicing NC I
• 25 graduates – Dressmaking NC II
• 75 graduates – Bread and Pastry Production NC II

A total of 196 graduates received their toolkits, each set symbolizing not only livelihood opportunities but also the trust of the government and community in their potential. At RNIT, we believe that every graduate has the power to create, innovate, and inspire—turning their hard-earned skills into meaningful contributions for their families and communities.

The Romblon Public Theater transformed into a vibrant hub of hope, skills, and opportunities during the World Café of Opportunities (WCO), a landmark event that connected jobseekers, students, government agencies, and industry partners on August 14, 2025.

The program began with a warm welcome from Mr. Joseph R. Coching, on behalf of Acting Provincial Training Center Administrator Felipe S. Gado, representing the host institution. Messages of support and commitment were delivered by Ms. Vanessa Jane D. Aceveda, CPA, MBA, Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Romblon; Mr. Ronald Geronimo, Head of PESO Romblon; Mr. Philip D. Ruga, Provincial Director of DOLE Romblon; Ms. Angelina M. Carreon, Regional Director of TESDA MIMAROPA; Hon. Gerard S. Montojo, Municipal Mayor of Romblon; Hon. Maria Rhosarean A. Solis, District I Board Member; Hon. Armando Gutierrez, Vice Governor of the Province of Romblon; and Hon. Carry Falculan, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, on behalf of Governor Trina Firmalo-Fabic.

Partner agencies such as PSA, PhilHealth, DTI, Pag-IBIG, BIR, and Land Bank were also present, reinforcing strong government support and services for Romblomanons.

Hiring companies including Sunwest Inc., El Elohe Group of Companies, Approche Hospitality Management Corporation, Megatrend Workforce Management, AsiaPro Multipurpose Cooperative, and Mitsukoshi Motors (Romblon Branch) shared valuable insights on job opportunities and industry expectations, providing attendees with a clearer pathway to employment.

The WCO 2025 featured the following highlights:

1. 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Applicants were directly connected with employers for career opportunities. A total of 550 clients were served during the event. Among them, seven (7) were Hired-on-the-Spot (HOTS) and ten (10) were Near-Hired, pending compliance with requirements. This clearly showed the program’s effectiveness in bridging opportunities for Romblomanons.

2. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. Clients were also able to access the services of partner agencies such as DOLE, DSWD, PESO, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and SSS. A total of 116 clients availed of assistance for Employment Documentary Requirements and Government-Mandated Memberships, which further supported their employment, livelihood, and social protection needs.

3. 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. A video presentation highlighted inspiring journeys of TESDA graduates who transformed their training into meaningful employment, proving the life-changing impact of TESDA programs and partnerships.

4. 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Trainees and trainers from Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT), Provincial Training Center Romblon (PTC), and Monfort Academy presented their technical expertise, showcasing the competence and industry readiness of Romblomanons.

5. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. More than just a pageant, this event served as a platform to empower employees from TTIs and TVIs in Romblon by highlighting their confidence, talents, and values. It became a celebration of empowerment, pride, and unity within the TESDA community.

6. 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹. Recognitions were given to dedicated employees and personnel from the TESDA Provincial Office, TTIs, and TVIs in Romblon, honoring their outstanding contributions in advancing technical-vocational education and training in the province.

The event concluded with Ms. Rochelle Zulueta, Senior TESD Specialist of TESDA Romblon, delivering heartfelt closing remarks.
The success of the WCO 2025 was made possible through the collaboration of the PTC Romblon, RNIT, and all the Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) in Romblon. Truly, sa TESDA, kapag sama-sama, kayang-kaya!

𝘼𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩 6, 2025 | 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙘, 𝙍𝙤𝙢𝙗𝙡𝙤𝙣 — The latest episode of “Ating Alamin sa RNIT-TESDA”, a special segment aired on Radyo Natin, brought to the spotlight one of TESDA’s most empowering initiatives: the World Café of Opportunities (WCO). The radio program featured distinguished guests from the TESDA Romblon Provincial Office, Provincial Training Center (PTC) Romblon, and Romblon National Institute of Technology (RNIT) who shared valuable insights about the event and its importance to technical-vocational learners and graduates.

Among the guests were Ms. Rochelle V. Zulueta, TESDA Romblon Provincial Office representative; Ms. Charito Sabida and Engr. Miraflor Tijulan of PTC Romblon; and Ms. Anna Christina C. Martinez and Ms. Melanie Mendoza of RNIT. They discussed the upcoming World Café of Opportunities scheduled on August 14, 2025, and the collaborative preparations being made to ensure its success.

During the segment, Ms. Zulueta explained that the World Café of Opportunities is an annual event initiated by TESDA as part of its National Tech-Voc Day celebration. It was launched in 2018 as a strategy to bring together key stakeholders such as industry partners, government agencies, training institutions, and jobseekers in one venue. The goal is to bridge the gap between TVET graduates and employment or entrepreneurial opportunities. Through job fairs, livelihood booths, and career talks, the WCO provides a platform for graduates to apply their acquired competencies in the workforce or start their own businesses.
Ms. Sabida and Engr. Tijulan highlighted the preparations being made for the event, including coordination meetings with committee members, logistical arrangements, and preparations for the skills demonstration. Ms. Martinez and Ms. Mendoza discussed RNIT’s behind-the-scenes role, which involves consolidating lists of employers and partner agencies, as well as mobilizing staff to support the activity.

All TVET graduates, jobseekers, senior high school students, and interested community members are invited to attend and explore a wide range of opportunities. Even though the event will be held in Romblon, Romblon, other interested applicants can still participate and find job opportunities through the Zoom platform. The event will feature job matching activities, presentation of success stories, skills demonstration, and the awarding of stakeholders and partners. It aims to connect skilled individuals with employment, livelihood, and entrepreneurial opportunities while celebrating collaboration and success in the tech-voc sector.

With strong collaboration and continued public awareness efforts, TESDA remains committed to its mission of empowering Filipino workers through relevant skills, training, and access to opportunity.
