SM CITY DASMARIÑAS OPENS ITS OWN DIRECTORS CLUB CINEMAS

SM Cinema, the country’s largest film exhibitor, continues to expand beyond Metro Manila with the launch of its newest Directors Club cinemas at SM City Dasmariñas—the 25th Directors Club branch nationwide.

This latest opening brings SM Cinema’s premium Directors Club screens to 54 nationwide, and marks the second in South Luzon, following the launch at SM City Bacoor in May 2025.

SM City Dasmariñas now houses two state-of-the-art auditoriums, each featuring 40 fully adjustable recliner seats with push-button controls and personal lights for maximum comfort. Moviegoers can look forward to an elevated viewing experience powered by Laser Projection Technology and Dolby Atmos 7.1 surround sound for crystal-clear visuals and immersive audio.

The Directors Club cinemas also offer butler service, delivering Snack Time’s food and beverages straight to guests’ seats. Patrons can also indulge in specialty treats such as truffle popcorn from the dedicated Popcorn Bar and premium drinks from the Snack Time booth.

To celebrate its opening, the Directors Club cinemas will showcase blockbuster titles including “Conjuring: The Last Rites,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” and “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.” Tickets are priced at ₱570, inclusive of popcorn and a drink.

ANOTHER MAYOR OF CAVITE TO JOIN ‘MAYORS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE’: MAGALLANES MAYOR JANESSA MALIGAYA

Like her sister, former Magallanes Mayor and now incumbent 8th District Board Member Jasmin Maligaya, Mayor Janessa Maligaya will also join the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG). In a text message she sent, Mayor Maligaya said that she has already enrolled in the group.

Previously, Mayor Jon-Jon Ferrer of General Trias City and Mayor Rommel Magbitang of Naic had already joined the Mayors for Good Governance in support of transparency, accountability, and justice in projects related to flood control.

Trece Martires City, Cavite – Agosto 30, 2025 — Isang makasaysayang hakbang sa paghahanap ng katarungan: Naglabas na ng official Warrant of Arrest ang Branch 23 ng Regional Trial Court ng Trece Martires City para sa kasong Murder at Frustrated Murder (Criminal Case No. TMCR-29719) laban sa mga sumusunod na akusado:

Melencio “Jun” de Sagun
Melandres “Melan” De Sagun
Melandro “Andoy” De Sagun
Adrian “Og-og” dela Cruz
Luis Abad Jr.

Matapos ang mahigit pitong taong paghihintay, isang liwanag ang sumilay sa laban para sa katotohanan at hustisya. Sa kabila ng kahalagahan ng pag-aresto, nananatiling at large ang mga nasabing akusado, at tuloy-tuloy ang legal na proseso upang sila'y maiharap sa korte.

Sa isang matapang na pahayag mula kay Mayor Gemma Lubigan, biyuda ni Vice Mayor Alex Lubigan, mariin niyang nanawagan:

“Kung naninindigan kayong inosente, sa hukuman niyo ito patunayan—hindi sa pag-iwas.”

Giit ni Mayor Lubigan, iginagalang niya ang rule of law, due process, at ang presumption of innocence, ngunit dapat umanong harapin ng mga akusado ang kaso sa tamang paraan.

Sa gitna ng patuloy na laban para sa hustisya, umaapela si Mayor Lubigan sa publiko:

“Huwag tayong padala sa maling impormasyon. Piliin natin ang totoo at tama. Hindi ako titigil hanggang makamtan ang hustisyang karapat-dapat para kay Alex.”

LIGHTHOUSE TANZA (MSSU NCR-CL)

Once standing steadfast on the waters of Rosario, Cavite, the San Nicholas Shoal Lighthouse served as a tertiary aid to navigation since its construction in 1997—its 30-foot concrete tower and red flashing beacon guiding mariners across a 7-nautical-mile range. In recent years, the site became a focal point of major reclamation activities, including the 265-hectare Harbor City Project, which eventually placed the lighthouse within a demarcated project exclusion zone. With sand extraction transforming the once-shallow shoal into deep water, its role in that location came to an end.

In 2023, the structure found a new purpose and a new home—relocated to the coastline near Villa Excellance, Tanza, Cavite (14°22'56"N, 120°49'17"E) and renamed Lighthouse Tanza. Now classified as a secondary aid to navigation, this 18-meter concrete tower stands proudly with its distinctive double red flash every 10 seconds. Officially illuminated during a lighting ceremony on 15 May 2025, it continues the legacy of its predecessor—shining across the waters, guiding mariners, and marking a new chapter in Cavite’s maritime story.
