✅ Instead, you may say, “Ang 𝗨𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗚 mga honor students karon kay lahi na man. Di naman jud mga bright. Lahi ra sauna.”

❌ Don't say, “Wa moy maabot sa injong kinabuhi.”

✅ Instead, you may say, “Wa moy maabot sa injong kinabuhi 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗚 magtinapol mo.”

Despite the challenges that we have been experiencing, we have to subscribe to the idea that better days are still coming. We have to acknowledge that we still have these kind of people who nurture our values, hold our positive principles and excel in life. We have to recognize their efforts and hope that with these type of learners and people that we have today, we could still make a progressive society.

No one knows what the future holds, so let's be careful with what we say. It is very unfair to not consider the successes of our young individuals. Let's not formulate unfair stereotypes. Let's not overgeneralize!

Just because she was not penalized doesn't mean she has not done something wrong. Wa man gi-promote sa board exam nga we're gonna make a live streaming and then scold the unruly students in our class. In fact, I could still remember that the best approach for this situation during one of my LET reviews is to talk with the student privately and not to scold him/her in front of the class. And this is such a great lesson for teachers to set boundaries as well. When we upload videos on social media, or in the case of the teacher who had a TikTok live streaming, we tend to let people around the world criticize us. So hopefully, the VP's decision will not create a bandwagon effect towards other teachers to do the same. Kuyaw baja pud ang ubang teachers kay bisan sayop ra sa usa ka studyante, damajon na ang tanan. Madamay ang mga nagtinarong.

Nevertheless, I am in favor with VP Sara for giving the teacher the chance since teaching is really tough. She might have said those hurtful words, but it doesn't mean she's a bad teacher. I believe that this is also a great move for teachers.

Furthermore, I am against the teachers who plan to do the same, like mag-live² nga mangasaba just because the teacher has not received any penalty. Ang giingon ni VP Sara, muundang sa lang ug klase kung mapungot na, basig ma misinterpret sa uban nga pwede na mangasaba nga mag-live². Ang pagpangasaba di jud na malikajan ug masabtan ra jud na. Pero ang mag-live² while mangasaba murag lahi na sad. Naa man tay gitawag nga punishment and reinforcement and hopefully, we'll be able to apply these concepts which we've learned in college and in LET reviews. Let's pray for strength and endurance in handling such situations professionally. Di lalim magtudlo ug di lalim mahimong magtutudlo. Mao bitawng “many are called but few are chosen.” Padayon mga chers. Let's keep learning. 💚💛

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?

First of all, it is because teaching demands everything from the teachers. It takes their hands to learn the skills that must be possessed, their heart to uphold the values that must be imparted, their intellect to comprehend the concepts that must be taught, and their time and energy to accomplish the tasks. It requires them to go above and beyond what they have been paid for just to complete the necessary responsibilities. They are consumed by teaching on all levels—mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. As they say, teaching is not a profession for the weak, but in reality, they are not financially strong.

Moreover, teachers do a lot aside from teaching. To mention a few, they check students' outputs, prepare the classrooms to make them more conducive for learning, train students for school competitions, conduct researches, perform some administrative tasks, and more. Contrary to what some people claim, they do not just sit, talk, and assess. They do more than these verbs. Teaching is just one of their tasks and we have to know that they do not merely teach. Rather, they multitask.

Teachers, furthermore, are building the future. Without them, we cannot produce “professionals” at present. Illiteracy and crimes could have been worse than ever. There could have been so many undescribable things that could have happened in their absence. Undeniably, we become more knowledgeable because of them, and we cannot thrive the way we do at present without their presence.

And because teaching is the noblest yet the most challenging profession, we have to help our teachers perform their tasks. We have to listen when they discuss. We have to respect them even in times when some of them seem unrespectable. We have to strengthen them by showing them love and gratitude. In this challenging time where the truth becomes the lie and the lie becomes the truth, we do need teachers more than they need students. So, we have to give them what they truly deserve.

And to the teachers out there, learn to set boundaries as well. We know how promising social media are in terms of providing other means of living, but do not go beyond the limitations. Draw a fine line to follow and let's strengthen our grounds. Remember that teaching is a challenging calling and it takes so much passion to do this mission. It takes so much courage and determination to fulfill the extraordinary path that we have chosen. And I do believe that we have been prepared for this. Let us continue carrying the torch which we have lightened up few years ago. Teaching is never an easy thing and from the very beginning we know that. Managing unruly students might be the hardest part of it, yet, isn't it one of the things that we have been preparing for?
