โ Mama โ
Nope, she's not my momโshe's my second elder sister, my hero. I call her โMamaโ because she made me feel like I was her own daughter.
The first story I'll always tell about her is the 1-peso coin story, one of my most treasured core memories.
Back when I was in kindergarten, Mama would take me to school every day. Even though she had to pass by her own school first and sometimes ended up being late for the flag ceremony, she always made sure I arrived safely before thinking about herself.
One day, Nanay only had enough money to give me baonโa single 1-peso coin. There wasn't any left for Mama. Maybe because I was the youngest, I was the one who received it. I begged Nanay to give Mama one too, but she simply didn't have any extra.
As we walked to school, I kept praying that we would find another 1-peso coin on the road so I could give it to my sister. Then suddenly, a bus passed by, and I heard the familiar ti**le of a coin hitting the ground. We looked for it together, and there it wasโa 1-peso coin.
Even after all these years, I still remember how happy I was. It wasn't because I found moneyโit was because I finally had something to give to Mama. That kind of joy is something nothing could ever replace.
Up to this day, even though she already has a family of her own, she never stops looking after me. The "Mama" and sister that anyone would wish for is now an amazing wife and a wonderful mother.
I couldn't be prouder of you, Sis Lornie. โค๏ธ
Thank you for loving me, protecting me, and making me feel like your own daughter. I love you so dearly, Mama. Forever and always. ๐ค
