𝗠𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆: 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝘂 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸

In line with the Safety and Health Guidelines provided by the Division of Angeles City, and through the initiative of the School Administration, Malabanias Integrated School (MIS) issues this advisory to strictly observe proper health and safety practices in response to the alarming cases of flu in the community.

To ensure everyone’s safety and well-being, all MIScians learners, teachers, non-teaching staff, and parents, are advised to follow these guidelines:

The school will continue regular cleaning and disinfection of classrooms, offices, laboratories, and common areas to minimize infection risks.

𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐤 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐔𝐅-𝐂𝐄𝐃 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲

With pens as their weapons and words as their victory, four (4) campus journalists from Malabanias Integrated School (MIS) made their mark at the Annual AUF-CED Journalism Fest 2025, with the theme “ALAB: Press Stories to Society – Youth in the Battle for Truth”, held at Angeles University Foundation (AUF) today, October 11, 2025.

The event, organized by Teacher’s Pen, the official campus publication of the AUF College of Education, gathered student journalists from various public and private schools across Angeles City for a day of competition, creativity, and character in campus journalism.

The program opened with inspiring messages from the organizers, emphasizing the power of campus journalism in shaping informed and critical-minded youth. Participants later attended a mini-press conference, led by the CID Chief of DepEd Angeles, Dr. Amando Yutuc, whose words served as the basis for the written outputs of some contest categories.

The competition featured five categories: News Writing, Feature Writing, Opinion Writing, Editorial Cartooning, and the School Paper Release Category. Contestants were given ample time to complete their works following the press conference.

Among the participants of MIS for the Individual Contests were Mohinder De Mesa for News Writing, Theresa Berger for Opinion Writing, Zowee Erin Perez for Cartooning, and Mary Tina Bagwan for Feature Writing.

Meanwhile, the Aequitas, the official school publication of MIS, emerged victorious as the Overall Champion in the School Paper Release Category.

Among its major wins were Champion in News Page and Layout Page, and 1st Runner-Up in Sports Page — a testament to the team’s collective effort and journalistic excellence.

Mr. Enrie Nicdao, one of the school paper advisers, expressed pride in the achievements of the young journalists, calling the recognition a reflection of their passion and perseverance.

“These awards are testaments of our MIScians’ journalistic prowess and dedication to their craft. The passion and commitment of our campus journalists made the paper remarkable. I hope they continue producing sensible articles for the community. It’s something we truly need, especially in our time today," Mr. Nicdao added.

Also, Mr. Nicdao, together with Ms. Cherish Herradura, both School Paper Advisers of Aequitas, expressed their gratitude to the administration of MIS for the unceasing support during the said contest.

In addition, the event was made possible through the efforts of Teacher’s Pen, in partnership with The Pioneer, AUF-CED CSC, and other AUF student organizations.

The 2025 Journalism Fest once again highlighted not only the skills of budding writers but also the enduring spirit of truth and creativity that drives the next generation of Filipino journalists.

‎Isa, dalawa, tatlo, sa daming taon ng lumipas hindi mabilang na g**o na ang aking nakilala, mga g**o na aking naging gabay patungo sa totoo. Mga g**o na handang gawin ang lahat upang ikaw’y matuto. Nagkakaiba sa asignaturang itinuturo ngunit iisa ang puso, pusong handang magturo.

‎Sa pagsilip ng araw ng Lunes kung saan nagsisimula ang lahat. Bagong linggo, bagong aral na mabubuo. Nagsisimula sa pagbati ng Magandang Buhay, at nagtatapos sa labing may malaking ngiti at utak na may karunungan. Kung saan ‘di lang utak ang nabubusog pati na rin ang puso ng bawat mag-aaral.

‎Isang beses sa isang taon kung atin ipagdiwang ang Buwan ng mga G**o. Ngunit kami bilang mag-aaral hindi kami magsasawa na iparamdam sa kanila ang araw-araw na pagkilala bilang aming bayani, pangalawang magulang, gabay, at kaibigan sapagkat ni minsan sila mismo ay hindi napagod sa amin. Hindi nagsawa na ipakita kung gaano kahalaga ang edukasyon.

‎Sino ang paborito mong g**o? Tanong na madalas kong naririnig. Ngunit kung ako ang tatanungin, isa lang ang aking sagot, kundi IKAW. Hindi ka lang nagtuturo, ikaw ay bumubuo ng pag-asa ng bayan, ang KABATAAN.

Upang magbigay pugay sa dedikasyon at sakripisyo ng mga g**o na nagsisilbing haligi ng edukasyon ipinagdiwang ng Malabanias Integrated School (MIS) ang taunang Teachers’ Day ngayong Huwebes, Oktubre 2, 2025, sa kanilang covered court sa ilalim ng temang “One School, One Vision: Promoting Respect and Equality in the School Community.”

Sa pagbubukas ng programa, nagkaroon ng isang entrance march ang mga g**o, kung saan bawat baitang ay masiglang pumarada patungo sa entablado. Sinundan ito ng isang panimulang panalangin na nagbigay ng mapayapang simula sa pagdiriwang.

Sinundan ito ng mga maiikli ngunit makahulugang mensahe mula kay G. Arturo Dungca III, OIC–Assistant School Principal, at kay Gng. Edna A. Cochico, presidente ng SPTA, na kapwa nagpaabot ng taos-pusong pasasalamat, pagmamalasakit, at pagkilala sa mga g**o.

Nagpakitang-gilas naman ang MIS Performing Arts Dance Troupe sa isang masiglang sayaw na inialay sa mga g**o, na sinundan ng MIS Choir sa kanilang makahulugang awitin bilang pagpupugay at pasasalamat.

Samantala, ipinakita ng SSLG ang kanilang inihandang video presentation na nag-alay ng mga pagbati at pasasalamat mula sa mga mag-aaral para sa mga g**o.

Isa sa mga pinakahinintay na bahagi ng selebrasyon ay ang raffle draw at awarding na pinangunahan ni G. Jomar Sampaga na nagbigay ng kasiyahan at saya sa bawat g**o.

Pagkatapos ng masarap na salu-salo, isinagawa ang pamamahagi ng tokens para sa lahat ng g**o na pinangunahan ng SPTA. Sumunod dito ang pagkilala sa mga g**ong nakapaglingkod ng limang taon at higit pa, na pinangunahan naman ni G. Dunca III at G. Sampaga bilang tanda ng kanilang pagpapahalaga at pasasalamat.

Sa pagtatapos ng selebrasyon, sama-samang inawit ng lahat ng g**o ang Teachers’ Anthem, ang kantang “Liwanag sa Dilim” ni Yeng Constantino, bilang simbolo ng liwanag at gabay na ibinibigay ng mga g**o sa bawat mag-aaral.

Ang nasabing selebrasyon ay nagsilbing paalala na ang dedikasyon at walang sawang serbisyo ng mga g**o ay hindi lamang humuhubog ng isipan kundi nagtataguyod din ng respeto, pagkakapantay-pantay, at malasakit sa buong pamayanan ng paaralan.

𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗬𝗢 𝗢 𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗬𝗢?

Sa mga nagdaang taon, paulit-ulit na lumulutang ang mga balitang may nawawalang pondo mula sa kaban ng bayan. Kapag nawawala ang bilyong pisong nakalaan para sa serbisyo publiko, malaking kawalan ito para sa sektor ng edukasyon. Maraming paaralan ang kulang sa silid-aralan, pasilidad, at g**o na sana'y natugunan kung tama ang paggastos ng kaban ng bayan. Dahil dito, libo-libong kabataan ang patuloy na naapektuhan ng hindi pantay na kalidad ng edukasyon.

Paulit-ulit na nararanasan ng bansa ang malawakang pagbaha sa tuwing may malakas na ulan o bagyo. Sa kabila ng pagkakaroon ng pondo para sa mga flood control project, marami pa rin ang nananatiling hindi natatapos o hindi nagagamit nang maayos. Habang nagdurusa ang mga pamilya sa paglikas at pagkawala ng tahanan pati na rin ng kabuhayan, patuloy namang nagbubulag-bulagan ang mga nasa kapangyarihan. Hanggang kailan tayo magtitiis sa ganitong sitwasyon?

Nalalapit na ang halalan at paulit-ulit nating naririnig ang mga pangako ng mga politiko, mga salitang tila musika sa ating pandinig ngunit madalas ay nauuwi lamang sa panghihinayang. Hindi ba’t panahon na upang unahin ang kapakanan ng bayan kaysa pansariling interes ng iilan? Ang tunay na lider ay hindi naghahanap ng kapangyarihan kundi handang magsakripisyo para sa nakararami at sa bayan. Ang ating boto ang susi upang hindi na maulit ang kasaysayang puno ng pang-aabuso.

NGAYON, HINDI NA BASTA-BASTA MALOLOKO ANG SAMBAYANANG PILIPINO. Bilang mga estudyante, kabataan, at mamamayan, malaking tinig ang hawak natin upang magtakda ng pagbabago. Hindi na muling papayag ang taumbayan na agawin ng iilang sakim ang boses ng nakararami. Ito ang bagong mukha ng ating pakikibaka, ang lakas ng mamamayan na hindi na muling tatahimik pa.

Sa bawat sulok ng ating lipunan, naririnig ang iisang hinaing, saan napupunta ang kaban ng bayan? SERBISYO na dapat ay inilalaan para sa mamamayan o tila ba naging BISYO na ng iilan ang PAGNANAKAW ng pondo ng bayan? Ito ang malungkot na reyalidad na nagpapabagal sa pag-angat ng sambayanang Pilipino at patuloy na nag-iiwan sa mamamayan ng kawalan ng sapat na serbisyong panlipunan.

ANG ATING GALIT AY HINDI BASTA EMOSYON KUNDI PANAWAGAN PARA SA KATARUNGAN.
Galit tayo bilang anak, bilang kapatid, bilang mag-aaral, at higit sa lahat bilang Pilipino, sapagkat araw-araw tayong ninanakawan ng kinabukasan. Kung hindi tayo kikilos, sino pa ang magtatanggol sa ating bayan? Kaya’t sa huli, MAY MGA TANONG ANG DAPAT MONG SAGUTIN: KUNG HINDI KA PA MULAT SA MGA NANGYAYARI, ABA’Y HINDI PA BA SAPAT ANG MGA KINUPIT? AT KUNG HINDI KA PA GALIT AT TITINDIG, ABA’Y BAKIT?

Angeles City, Pampanga — The Local Government of Angeles City has suspended government offices and classes in ALL LEVELS (public and private schools) in Pampanga, 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪, September 23, 2025 (Tuesday), due to the inclement weather conditions brought by bagyong "Nando".

In line with this, all institutions are advised to proceed on their alternative modes of instruction in lieu of face-to-face classes.

The suspension was declared by the Office of the President, through Memorandum Circular No. 97, issued upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The order covers all levels in Metro Manila, Abra, Antique, Apayao, Bataan, Batanes, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Cagayan, Cavite, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Kalinga, La Union, Laguna, Mountain Province, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, PAMPANGA, Pangasinan, Palawan, Romblon, Tarlac, and Zambales.

The public shall stay alert and follow official advisories.
