Bago ako naging full-time Virtual Assistant, isa muna akong Grade 6 teacher.

Makikita niyo sa larawang ito ang isang simpleng araw sa classroom. Pero para sa akin, ito ang mundong tumulong humubog kung sino ako ngayon.

Araw-araw, nagtuturo. Nagcocoach ng mga bata para sa iba’t ibang competitions. Gumaganap na parang pangalawang magulang. Gumagawa ng lesson presentations, naghahanda ng lesson plans, tapos may admin tasks at reports pa na kailangang isingit kahit pagod na.

Hindi siya madali. Pero ginawa ko. Araw-araw. Taon-taon.

At ngayon ko lang talaga na-realize, dito pala nagsimula ang confidence ko na pasukin ang pagiging VA.

Dito ko natutunang maging maayos sa oras, mabilis mag-adjust, mag-multitask, umintindi ng ugali ng tao, makinig ng may puso. Lahat ng iyon, dala ko hanggang ngayon.

Kaya nung lumipat ako sa online world, hindi ako nangapa. Oo, may bagong kailangang matutunan. Pero may foundation na ako. At ‘yun ang nagtulak sa akin na maniwala na kaya ko rin to.

Hindi ko agad nakita ang worth ng trabaho ko dati. Pero ngayon, alam kong hindi lang ako naging g**o. Naging mentor ako. Naging leader. Naging problem-solver. At higit sa lahat, naging resilient.

To all teachers out there, your skills are powerful beyond the classroom. Never underestimate your capacity to grow, shift, and succeed in new spaces.
