The Mediantics, the academic organization of the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (ABJ) program of University of Rizal System Angono (URSA), sponsored the Story Canvas Workshop participated by ABJ students on October 29 at Camp Neñada.

Ms. Jazzle Paredes and Ms. Glaiza Olase, ABJ alumnae of URSA and Journalism practitioners, and Ms. Nina Thompson, a creative writer, discussed news, feature, and creative writing respectively.

The seminar-workshop aimed to further hone the ABJ students' technical and creative writing skills.

A mini-writing workshop followed where participants were given the chance to test their journalistic skills.

Lorreign Yuan Nichols Sales and Miccah Reigne Millare of BEEd 3C were crowned as the first Mr. and Ms. Daskalos Coalition (DasCo) on October 23.

Shahrit Allen Alvarez and Marielle Grace Varron from BEED 1C were the runners-up, while Neo Salangsang of BEED 1C and Shadea Shyne Hallie Salamanca of BEED 3D were the second runners-up.

The event was held at Angono Gymnasium as part of DasCo Week, themed “Igniting Passion, Shaping Futures: The Daskalos’ Enduring Legacy.”

Daskalos Coalition (DasCo), the academic organization of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), conducted team-building activities that strengthened the teamwork among their members on the seond day of Dasco Week last October 22 at Angono Gymnasium.

Team Purple was declared overall champion among the six teams of mixed year-level members.

They secured three first places in the Octopus Race, Human Centipede, and Make a Sound.

Teams Green and Pink placed second and third in Octopus Race while Teams Red and Blue placed second and third in Human Centipede.

Meanwhile, Teams Blue and Green placed second and third in Make a Sound.

In Catch the Flag, Team Blue won first place, Team Green succeeded in second place, and Team Pink finished in third place.

Team Red also flaunted their speed in Popping the Balloons after claiming first place in "Putukan Na." Teams Purple and Green followed in second and third places respectively.

Moreover, Team Pink bested their competitors in Volleyball after clinching first place, while Team Green came in second and Team Red succeeded in third.

To equip both faculty and staff of the University of Rizal System Angono (URSA) with the knowledge and application of disaster risk reduction and preparedness, the Campus Health Unit headed by Nurse Maria Lourdes Serrato in collaboration with the General Services Office headed by Mr. Ramil Anore, sponsored a disaster preparedness lecture-workshop on October 23 at the Computer Laboratory.

Engr. Ruel Lopez and Mr. Wilson Gabriel of the Morong Volunteers Emergency Response Team discussed measures and practices done to assuage the effects of disasters, The Big One, in particular.

The lecture included securing the immediate environment, establishing a clear chain of command, evacuation plans, managing resources, and student reunification with parents.

Faculty members and staff were also drilled on the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” method and principles.

Two faculty members from the College of Education (COE) of University of Rizal System Angono (URSA) and four programs: Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE), and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) of COE and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) of the College of Arts and Letters (CAL) were recognized during the 20th Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) last October 3, 2025 at Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Tanghalang Sining (EARTS) IN URS Morong campus.

Asst. Prof. Janette Fronda was recognized for her 30 years in service while Asst. Prof. Ma. Corina Feliciano was recognized for her 35 years in service.

The BEEd program was awarded the Hall of Fame while the BSE program was awarded Third Citation in the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) Certification.

The BSHM and the BSTM programs were both awarded the Third Citation in the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Certification.
