“Tama ba na naninirahan kayo sa mga magaganda at maaayos na bahay ngunit wasak na wasak naman ang aking Templo? 5 Hindi ba ninyo napapansin ang mga nangyayari sa inyo? 6 Marami na kayong naihasik ngunit kaunti lamang ang inyong ani. May mga pagkain nga kayo ngunit kakaunti naman at hindi makabusog. May alak nga kayong naiinom ngunit hindi naman sapat upang magbigay kasiyahan. May damit nga kayong naisusuot ngunit giniginaw pa rin kayo sa taglamig. Kumikita nga ang manggagawa ngunit kinukulang pa rin siya. 7 Alam ba ninyo kung bakit ganyan ang nangyayari? 8 Hindi ako nasisiyahan sa mga ginagawa ninyo. Kaya pumunta kayo sa kagubatan at kumuha ng mga trosong gagamitin sa muling pagtatayo ng Templo upang ako ay masiyahan at doon ay mabigyan ng karangalan.”
