Fueled by grit and determination, the San Jose NHS wrestling team excelled at the Unit meet held at St. John's Wort Montessori School. They secured several silver and bronze finishes in both the boys' and girls' divisions.

San Jose National High School's badminton squad delivered a power-packed performance at the Badminton Unit Meet, with the team proving their mettle on the court. Coach Mary Jane Ignacio led her athletes to impressive podium finishes, setting the stage for the upcoming City Meet.

Charging through the Unit Meet, the San Jose NHS Lawn Tennis team brought home a winning mix of gold, silver, and bronze medals. With their sights set on the City Meet, they are ready to serve, volley, and smash their way to the top.

Coached by Ryan Joseph G. Barrios, the Boys’ team displayed relentless determination. Sese and Lardizabal went toe-to-toe in their singles matches, battling fiercely to secure hard-earned bronze medals. Rosauro and Tabirao teamed up with power and precision, rallying through doubles to clinch a well-deserved silver, setting them up for a deep run at the City Meet.

With Coach Leila M. Tañada and Coach Bernadette B. Velchez providing support, the Girls’ team played with precision, passion, and firepower. Tagle dominated Single B, serving up a gold-medal performance. Gonzales and Torepel ruled the doubles court, powering through their opponents to claim the gold. Sinerez added silver in Single A, sealing a dominant finish for the team.

After opening the season with back-to-back losses, the Josephians made a powerful statement on Friday, September 12, with a dominant 105–40 win over St. Claire. From the tip-off, they applied tight defense and executed sharp offensive sets, racing to a 34–5 first-quarter lead. Their relentless pressure forced turnovers, leading to fastbreak points that buried St. Claire early.

By halftime, the Josephians were up 64–15, continuing their assault in the second half. They extended the lead to 90–25 by the third quarter, with every possession showcasing their dominance. The final quarter was a formality, finishing 105–40.

Fostunes led with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, keeping the offense flowing while creating opportunities. After the game, he said, “Ang nagbigay ng momentum sa amin ay ‘yung 0–2 start ng aming campaign, dahil doon mas lumaban kami at ‘yung samahan ng team, ‘yun ang nagbigay sa amin ng lakas.”

Coach Herbert Mawili praised the team’s performance but stressed, “Kailangan talaga pagbutihin ang depensa sa susunod na mga laban kasi sa ibang kalaban, malalaki ang build ng katawan.” His focus on defense moving forward highlighted the challenges ahead.

San Jose NHS men’s volleyball team kicked off their campaign in the Unit Meet 2025 with a dominant 2-0 win in Game 1, securing a 25-5 victory in the first set and 25-6 in the second. The match, held at Sun Hwa International Academy, saw the team execute powerful spikes, precise serves, and solid defense, showing total control throughout the game.

With coaches Sir Almer Cruzado and Sir Julio Ortiz guiding them, the players stayed focused and sharp, following the game plan perfectly. The win sets the stage for Day 2 of the competition tomorrow, where San Jose NHS will look to carry their momentum forward and continue their strong run in the tournament.

‎Here we go again with the LATE SUSPENSION! And the students are waiting again, waking up early and getting soaked in the rain on their way in, only to have their fare and time wasted because they'll just be going home right away due to the late announcement.

‎Abangers learned it the hard way that waiting for late suspension news can feel like a race against the rain. The chaos of sprinting to school, glued to your phone, and the last-minute panic when plans shift we’ve all been there.
‎
‎This comic captures the essence of the all-too-familiar struggle: the mix of hope for a break, the stress of uncertainty, and the relief (or frustration) when the news finally drops.
‎
‎Let this serve as a reminder to stay prepared, stay calm, and trust that even the longest waits eventually end.

‎Happiness is free, no fee, unless you are obliged to be with something you are not meant to fight for.

‎Hidden in plain sight, there lies a weight that cannot be ignored, toward their sealed fate of nightmares. Along the mountains of Katipunan, Zamboanga, lived a girl named Elvenia, who in no time is going to be married, and somehow her life slowly felt like being buried.
‎
‎She was not only young but also not yet mature. Like many other girls who fall below the legality bracket comes a normalized abnormality that turns innocence into torment—child marriage.
‎
‎𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞?
‎
‎In Katipunan, the Subanen tribe in Zamboanga normalizes the culture of child marriage. These children, who are supposed to be in school grasping knowledge, instead grasp the tools of livelihood just to survive.
‎
‎Elvenia and Sarah were not only victims of child marriage but also of teenage pregnancy. At sixteen, they gave birth to children, who in the eyes of society they themselves were still children, unready to carry such burdens.
‎
‎Tradition deprives them of choice... whether in education, adoption, or freedom. They strive, try to survive, but in the end, someone always deprived.
‎
‎In 2021, the Philippine Government enacted the Anti-Child Marriage Law, Republic Act 11596, which aimed to diminish these practices and protect young girls who are caged in lives they did not choose.
‎
‎Yet soon after, tribal chieftains resisted, preserving their traditions in the name of culture and community. They openly disapproved of the law, insisting on their right to uphold customs. Supposedly, these girls could file for divorce, which may seem ideal, but the truth remains—what about the children born from forced unions, children carried unwillingly through women’s bodies? Who bears the accountability for that source of pain?

‎𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬
‎
‎These are not like cocoons—meant for growth. But more likely a cage designed to stop it. A cocoon should nurture transformation, but these cages suffocate it until nothing remains.
‎
‎The law may seek to stop the culture and hope to set the children free, but as long as these cages remain, their wings can never open. Growth will always be withheld, and these girls will remain as someone’s detainees.
