One of the best Xiao Long Bao in Baguio City!💯😋

Found this newly opened cozy spot in the City of Pines serving one of the best local Xiao Long Bao (XLB) with homemade sauce na natikman ko. Saan ito? Sa XLB Cafe by Daenamu!😉

Perfect din at must-try yung Xiao Long Bao (XLB) chocolate nila!! Ito yung version nila na may cream cheese sa loob tapos ididip mo sa chocolate at kakainin ng buo RAPSAAAA!!💯✔️ May iba pa silang appetizers, burgers and pizza.

Masarap din yung version nila ng Lo Mien with black vinegar and other condiments.👌🏻 They also have Soto Yam, Pad Thai, rice meals like Beef Rendang and more!!

For their drinks, we tried their hot Blue Pea Tea na swak sa maulang panahon and their Milo Milk with Chocolate Foam na sakto ang tamis at lasa. They also have other refreshers, coffee and non-coffee drinks.

May alfresco dining din sila, pet friendly at may parking space din sa harap ng main entrance. Pwede din magpark sa may entrance ng Jade Spa. You can ride a jeepney going to Country Club Village located sa harap ng SSS building at Petron.

Sama-Samang Panawagan: Laban sa Korapsyon, Laban sa Pang-aabuso sa Trillion Peso March sa Baguio

Ngayong Setyembre 21, sa mismong anibersaryo ng deklarasyon ng Martial Law, muling pumapailanlang ang tinig ng taumbayan sa Baguio at Benguet. Hindi lamang ito isang paggunita sa madilim na kabanata ng ating kasaysayan, kundi isang malinaw na panawagan laban sa paulit-ulit na sugat na idinudulot ng katiwalian.

Sa kabila ng kulay, edad, kasarian, at estado sa buhay, nagkakaisa ang mamamayan upang isigaw: “Tama na! Sobra na!” Ang katiwalian ay hindi lamang nakawan ng kaban ng bayan, ito’y pagnanakaw sa kinabukasan ng kabataan, pagyurak sa dignidad ng mahihirap, at pagkakait ng serbisyong dapat ay para sa lahat.

Ang panawagan ng taumbayan ay malinaw: Panagutin ang mga may sala. Hindi maaaring manatiling malaya at walang pananagutan ang mga nasa kapangyarihang paulit-ulit na lumalapastangan sa tiwala ng bayan. Ang hustisya ay hindi dapat manatiling pangarap lamang; ito ay karapatan ng bawat Pilipino.

Ngayong araw ng pagkakaisa, ang tinig ng Baguio-Benguet ay nagsisilbing paalala na hindi kailanman dapat maulit ang pang-aabuso ng nakaraan. At higit sa lahat, ito’y panawagan para sa isang mas maayos, tapat, at makataong pamahalaan, isang gobyernong tunay na naglilingkod at hindi nagpapayaman.

Sa laban kontra-korapsyon, sama-sama tayong lahat. Dahil ang pagbabago ay hindi mangyayari kung mananatili tayong tahimik.

Days 2 and 3: Amsterdam’s Flavors, Quirks, and the Journey to Paris

Amsterdam proved to be a city of contrasts, rich in flavors, bold in character, and full of surprises. Day 2 was a feast for the senses as we explored its vibrant food scene. From buttery croissants and golden Belgian-style fries to gourmet truffle-topped versions, every bite had its own story. Cheese lovers’ paradise at De Kaaskamer and sweet indulgences at Het Koekemannetje and Sweet Tree Amsterdam rounded out a culinary adventure that was as memorable as the city’s canals.

Days 2 and 3 showed Amsterdam’s quirkier side. The Red Light District and its neon-lit windows reminded us of the city’s bold culture, while coffeeshops reflected its laid-back cannabis policy. Yet, beyond the edgy highlights, charm was found in tiny electric cars, hidden art pieces, diamond shops, tulip stalls, and postcard-perfect canal views, each corner offering something unique.

The journey then shifted gears as I boarded the Eurostar bound for Paris. Smooth and scenic, the ride glided past Dutch flatlands and Belgian landscapes before arriving at Gare du Nord. Navigating the Paris Metro with luggage in hand was its own mini adventure, a test of independence and resilience.

From Amsterdam’s flavors and eccentricities to the first steps into Paris, these days captured the essence of travel: discovering, savoring, and embracing the unexpected.

Day 1: Immersing in the Beauty of Amsterdam, The Netherlands 🇳🇱

Touching down in Amsterdam feels like stepping straight into a postcard. The city greets you with its iconic canals, charming brick houses, and the steady rhythm of bicycles passing by. A first day here often begins with a gentle stroll through the canal belt, where bridges arch gracefully over the water and every turn seems to reveal another picture-perfect scene.

A visit to Dam Square sets the tone for understanding the city’s history, surrounded by landmarks like the Royal Palace and the National Monument. Then comes the joy of simply wandering whether it’s browsing flower stalls at the Bloemenmarkt, sampling Dutch cheese, or pausing at a cozy café for a warm stroopwafel.

As the day unfolds, you can glide along the canals on a boat tour, watching the city’s 17th-century townhouses light up as the sun begins to set. By evening, the streets hum with energy, offering everything from lively pubs to quiet corners where you can just sit back and soak in the atmosphere.

Amsterdam on day one is not about rushing through checklists, it’s about letting the city reveal itself slowly, through its sights, flavors, and timeless charm.

Carrying Home the Waters of Lourdes, France🙏🏻

Situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees in Southern France, Lourdes is renowned as a major pilgrimage site where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, including the Grotto of Massabielle, is the heart of the pilgrimage experience, where you can participate in ceremonies, light candles, or immerse yourself in the Baths of Lourdes for spiritual and physical healing.

The three basilicas of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes are must-see sites as well. The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, easily recognisable by its tall spire, has stained glass windows depicting the events in Lourdes. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, in the Romano-Byzantine style, is covered with 2,000m' of exceptional mosaics. Lastly, the underground Basilica of St. Pius X impresses visitors with its unusually large dimensions and features various stained glass images in the gemmail style.

There are two processions a day for visitors to the Sanctuary. The eucharistic procession and the blessing of the sick are celebrated at 5 pm every day from Easter to the end of October. The famous torchlight procession, a highlight of any visitor's day in Lourdes, takes place at 7 pm every night.

Many visitors also fill bottles with the grotto’s holy water from designated fountains, a gesture of faith and hope carried home across the world.

From the silent grotto to the flowing fountains, from Mass to procession, every moment feels like stepping into something larger than yourself. It is a journey of faith, healing, and awe that lingers long after you leave.🫶🏻

Yaletown Café Now in Baguio City!🙂

Kung naghahanap kayo ng bagong kainan dito sa Baguio City, pwede ninyong subukan ang Yaletown Café, na bagong bukas sa Legarda Road. Cozy ang lugar, may al fresco dining, at mababait pa ang staff, kaya ang sarap lang tambayan whether for casual hangouts or special dinners. May parking space din kaya hassle-free. Ang ambiance ay may modern-European touch with warm lights, wooden accents, at Instagrammable corners na swak for photos habang nag-eenjoy ka sa pagkain.

For their food, we tried their Courgette Chips na deep-fried zucchini fritters with spicy garlic mayo bilang appetizer. We also ordered Babeuree Poulet Frit, buttermilk-herb brined chicken na may gravy, chicken rice, at charred corn. Okay din yung Jarret de Boeuf Braisé na braised beef shank na nakapatong sa mashed potatoes with roasted mushrooms. Yung Côtelette de Porc Poêlée naman nila ay pan-seared herbed pork chop na may roasted vegetables, fries, at sweet mustard sauce. Para sa pasta, tinikman namin ang Beef Cannelloni stuffed with beef tender in margherita sauce nila at ang Spaghetti Beef Goulash na may beef meatballs in rich tomato sauce. Siyempre, hindi mawawala ang Pepperoni Classico Pizza topped with mozzarella cheese.

We also tried their Yaletown Beef Burger na juicy ang beef patty with lettuce and tomato, layered with cheddar cheese at caramelized onions, served with French fries on the side. Pasado ang lasa, lalo na kung mahilig ka sa hearty comfort food. For dessert, okay yung Dark Choco Torte na moist dark chocolate ganache paired with vanilla ice cream, at ang Coffee Caramel Cake na sweet but not overwhelming, perfect pang-pares sa kape.

Sa drinks naman, we tried their Baguio Latte with Turon, refreshing pineapple shake, at syempre, the classic cappuccino na comforting at bagay sa malamig na Baguio weather. Overall, okay naman ang pagkain at drinks pero medyo nasa higher price point siya compared sa typical Baguio diners.

If you are looking for something different na may touch of international flavors inspired by travel and culture, check out Yaletown Café. Taste is subjective, kaya tara na at tikman niyo mismo baka sakaling maging bago ninyong favorite spot dito sa Baguio.
