Viva Pit Senior!

In the vast island,
With generous and welcoming people.
Where religious history started,
That makes change in the future.

Oh precious, Cebu City,
You brought the people together,
You highlight such amazing activity,
That makes people celebrate every year.

From the lively and vivid colours from the streets,
Accompanied by noise you will hear.
Echoing and making you feel the world "happiness,"
As the crowd continue to shout, Viva Pit Senior!

Sinulog Festival, the name of that celebration,
Where they dances gracefully, like how a flower dance with the winds.
Their costume blooms with dazzling design,
Where they also highlight such important things.

The Queen, main attraction of the activity,
Wear an eye-catching gown, for the people to see.
Senior Sto. Niño, where she hold so dearly,
That symbolises how religious they are.

This celebration of Cebuano's
Will always be treasured like a gold or diamond,
And will passed down through generations and shall not vanished,
For them to continue to say, Viva Pit Senior!

What's in the logo
The logo is a modern, stylized circular emblem that visually connects the publication’s identity to its unique coastal heritage. At its heart is an open book, symbolizing learning, knowledge, and the student voice. Behind the book rises a sun, evoking enlightenment, new ideas, and hope.

To the left of the book, a stylized coral reef (Kapagangan) prominently represents the natural marine environment that inspired the publication’s name and situates the school within its seaside community. To the right, a bold quill pen and ink nib emphasize journalism, creativity, and the power of writing.

Encircling the imagery, the maroon ring bears the school name, publication title, and founding year, creating a sense of institutional pride and continuity. The aqua and teal tones reflect the sea and youthfulness, while maroon and gold accents tie back to the school’s colors, projecting both energy and tradition.

Overall, the logo combines modern boldness with local identity, celebrating both the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its deep connection to the coastal environment of Mag-aba.

Our Story

Kapagangan is a Kinaray-a term for coral reefs, is the current flagship student-led school-community publication of Mag-aba National High School in Pandan, Antique, Philippines. The coral reefs symbolize the growth and dynamic idealism of student writers and the community where they belong. The publication was founded in 1993 with years of renaming and finally comes to its permanence in 2011 with its current name. The publication itself stands as a platform for free, critical, creative, and responsible expression among young minds. Its writers and staff received various recognitions and awards since 2008 in different Campus Journalism writeshops and conferences. With continued development of communication and media, the publication continues to evolve and grow with its principle as the "paper of the studentry, and the voice of school unity". #Kapagangan #Manahians
