𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐦; Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost from the United States of America (USA) is the 267th elected Pope of the Catholic Church after two days of conclave at the Vatican.

May 9, 2025 at exactly 12:08 a.m PH time, a white smoke was emerged at the chimney of the Sistine Chapel indicating that there is a new elected pope.

Meanwhile, after an hour of waiting at 1:13 a.m, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of the USA was announced as the new Pope, and appeared at the St. Peter's basilica central balcony at 1:24 in the morning.

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost is the first American Pope. He will use the papal name Leo XIV.

Showdown of flash and flair were displayed as the first-timer bets of Bachelor of Elementary Education, Marc Anunciacion, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Emichelle Bongalbal seized the title of Mr. and Ms. DAC, at Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit campus covered court, yesterday.

Representing poise and wit from their programs, BEED’s Anunciacion and BSBA’s Bongalbal flaunt stellar performance all throughout the segment adding minor awards under their names.

As close as it can get, discussion from the judges sparked as tight margin of scores were computed after the tabulation.

John Aeron Mendoza and Jerica Mariz Zuniga from Bachelor of Science in hospitality management near pursuance bagged the first-runner up respectively.

The Fearless Falcon of Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) displayed exceptional agility and teamwork, overpowering the Fiery Phoenix in the Larong Lahi: Dodge of Ball competition held during DAC Days. The game took place at the school’s ground on April 29, 2025.

In the first game, the match between Fiery Phoenix and Majestic Peacock ended in a tie. However, Fiery Phoenix completed the game in approximately managed to finish the game in approximately 1 minute and 43 seconds, while Majestic Peacock, finished slightly slower at around 1 minute and 57 seconds. This time difference secured Fiery Phoenix victory and earned them a spot in the championship round.

Suceedingly, in the second game, the Fearless Falcon team clinched a dominant 3-0 win against Magnificent Owl team.

In a post-game interview, Carlo Musni and Kathline Usi, from the Fearless Falcon, described they experiences throughout the game.

“𝐈 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞,” he explained.

The Fearless Falcon of Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) snatched victory in the Larong Lahi: Tug of War competition held during DAC Days. The game took place at the school’s grounds on April 29, 2025

Despite the intense gameplay, both teams showed exemplary teamwork, and determination as they fought to win the championship match. After a grueling game, the Fearless Falcon clinched the championship title by successfully defeating Majestic Peacock.

In the lead-up to the championship game, the Majestic Peacock grabbed a win against the Fiery Phoenix in the first game. Then, the Fearless Falcon defeated the Magnificent Owl in the second game. Their victories earned them spots in the championship match.

Furthermore, Billy Joe Pechardo, from the Fearless Falcon, mentioned that they lowered their bodies, tiring out the opponent first, and then pulled together with full force.

Moreover, Cassey Yumul, mentioned that their victory was not only based on strength, but also on unity, teamwork, and mutual support.

BSHM Majestic Peahens defeated BSBA Fiery Phoenixes 46-30 in the championship match during the DAC days held at Sampaloc covered court, April 26, 2025.

Due to the defaulting of BSIT and BEED, women's basketball advanced to an early championship match. BSBA Fiery Phoenixes' and BSHM Majestic Peahen's proceed to the final battle for gold.

Besides having a low scoring game, Majestic Peahen's total team effort outscored Fiery Phoenixes with a 16-point victory with a final score of 46-30.

Fueled by sheer determination and an intense desire to dominate, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) blazed through the finals upsetting the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) Majestic Peacocks with a final score of 89-84 in the men’s basketball championship held at Sampaloc covered court, April 29, 2025.

Despite the fatigue due to the previous back-to-back games, the Majestic Peacocks came out strong in the first quarter, capitalizing the advantage at the shaded area that gave them an early five-point lead, 24-19. However, it wasn’t enough to shake the fire power of the Fiery Phoenixes.

Tensions escalated on the hard court when both teams are exchanging lead, and hustling for possessions in the second. Supporter's loud chants of both team made even referees whistle's inaudible.

Drama was erupted late in the 3rd quarter as Majestic Peacock's Edmar Dizon and Layzie Labajo were down on the floor one after another due to leg cramps.

The 4th quarter saw a heated back-and-forth, as teams exchanging of big time baskets. Majestic Peacock's Yuri Masibac, became more aggressive attacking to the rim.

However, Fiery Phoenix sharp shooter Jeremy Buccat showers multiples threes in the halfway of the final period leading their scoring run to take the lead 87-84 with 59 seconds remaining. BSBA defense stopped BSHM to made a basket until the final buzzer, ending with a final score of 89-84.

BSBA standout Jeremy Buccat led the charge with an impressive 22-point performance, showing no mercy on the court. Teammate Bryan Angeles and Von Aaron Abcede also delivered clutch plays in the third and fourth quarters, further igniting the crowd and widening their lead.

In a post-game interview, BSBA Fiery Phoenix team captain John Carlo Sablan reflected on their journey all throughout the tournament.

"𝗡𝗮𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝘀𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗼. 𝗡𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗼 𝗻𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭 𝗻𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗦𝗛𝗠 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗦𝗜𝗧 𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗼 𝗻𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀."

He also stated their adjustments from their previous games,"puro foul trouble kami, nag adjust kami pag dating sa finals game para hindi na maulit. Pati sa depensa nag adjust kami. Teamwork din talaga at tiwala sa isa't isa kaya napagtagumpayan namin maipanalo hanggang championship game.

Meanwhile, Kirsten Jay Avelino from BSBA 2A shared on how they handled the pressure in the last quarter.

In conclusion, John Carlo Sablan and Kirsten Jay Avelino expressed their gratitude to BSBA Department.
